Raids always have elitism. If you played D1 youd be familiar with the "must have Ghalarhorn" posts.
The problem is there are a lot of 1st time raiders who use the lfg boards and think they know it all because they watched a youtube video or because they got carried on their 1st raid.
I run into this a lot on the lfg boards, typically its young kids.

I am not a kid, and am what you described, except for the " think they know it all" part; I watched videos and read a couple of guides before I did a sherpa'd DSC, but those just provided conceptual introductions to the roles rather than integrated views of the encounter "big picture" so I went in expecting to need to learn. So many LFG posts are KWTD, so few are Chill. If it weren't for r/DestinySherpa I'd probably never have raided at all.

The people I'm referring to are those who watch the videos or get carried and think that qualifys them to direct everyone and think they know every single detail when in reality they have little to no clue.

LOL that would never be me.
