One of my favorite load outs from D1 was Fatebringer, then Praedyths. What was the reasoning for switching it to a kinetic?

I love seeing the number of people that mix up primary and special ammo weapons with Kinetic and energy. Two different things. To answer your question, I would venture to say it is to balance weapon loadout choices. One way or another, something was going to be different. Weapons in the kinetic slot will always do kinetic damage, hence the name. Meaning that something like Vision of Confluence would be kinetic rather than solar if it was in the kinetic slot. Closest they could have come to original VoG weapons is if all primary weapons went in the kinetic slot. Meaning that just like how Fatebringer is kinetic rather than arc, Vision would be kinetic rather than solar. It would be different somehow always because the kinetic slot will always be kinetic damage and nothing else.

use Adored or Frozen Orbit or even Borealis vice versa you could use PR and Posterity that would be fun too

Maybe is just for a question of weapons variety in general? Like balance the number and choice of Snipers between Kinetic and Energetic Slot?

For the same reason why they changed it from low zoom to medium zoom. It's because they can. That is all.

Same reason Found Verdict went from rapid fire to aggressive. Because

Better in the primary slot honestly. 140 snipers in the energy slot do too little damage
-
they gotta change the weapon system. let us run 2 kinetics or energys
-
Because there were no kinetic weapons in VoG in D1.
