Are Dredgens Evil?

I've been trying to find answers for this on Google but the only relevant thing that comes up is a reddit post that isnt too helpful The wiki states that dredgens often don't follow rules in pvp rounds of crucible and gambit and take pleasure in killing other guardians, but then a couple people irl have said that those dredgens are only a few. And i also know wiki isn't super accurate for everything I know the point of being a dredgen/joining the Shadows of Yor is to become as close to Dredgen Yor as possible without getting corrupted, but what does that specifically entail? Also why does Drifter give out the Dredgen title if he's no longer associated with the Shadows of Yor? What does being a Dredgen mean lore wise? And does it mean you're evil?
The whole point of the existence of the Shadows of Yor is that Shin Malphur realized that his hatred of Dredgen Yor for killing his mentor made his abilities in the Light more powerful (the first Golden Gun). So he saw a path to making the Light even more powerful....but (because of what happened to Dredgen Yor) there needed to be a means to PRUNE those people who were corrupted by the Darkness and gave into the seductive pursuit of power for its own sake. Long story short, the Shadows of Yor, Gambit, and the Reputation of Shin Malphur are all an elaborate STING operation. To use The Darkness as a means to make Lightbearers more powerful....while culling those who are unworthy and cannot handle the darkenss without being corrupted by it. IOW, Shin Malphur IS A DREDGEN...and is the Enforcer of the Shadows of Yor where it comes to culling the corrupt within their own ranks. While The Drifter and Gambit is the sting whereby the corrupt are given enough rope with which to hang themselves, and reveal that they've been corrupted. So the answer is that some Dredgens are evil. Some are not. But all are adherents to a rough form of sword logic. Where physical strength is not what is being selected for...but instead the MORAL and emotionla srength to not be corrupted by proximity to the Darkness. Make Sense? If not, think of it this way. Its as if in Star Wars you had an agreement by Jedi and Sith to use the Dark Side to make the Light Side of the Force more powerful by using the whole of The Force. But that a Jedi Master would police the Sith, and destroy those who were too corrupted and strayed too far down the path to corruption and violence. Shin Malphur is that Jedi Master.... But he isn't trying to destroy the Darkness. He's just culling those too weak to use it without becoming a slave to its corrupting influence.
