Fusion Rifles Should Work Similar To Megaman’s Buster Cannon

Firing Mode Rework: • Fusion rifles now have a tap fire / charge shot mechanic (think devils ruin). Firing Mode Mechanic: • Rapid tap firing shoots out single bolts, that deal lower base damage. This is universal across all fusion rifles. Charging Mode: • Hold your charge for an extended period to increase the number of bolts from 1 up to 7, based on its archetype. when you release the trigger; all 7 bolts will fire, in quick succession. Damage also increases the longer you hold your charged shot. Charging Penalty: • Charges cannot be held indefinitely. The charge time would be archetype based, & once you’ve exceeded the charge limit; the charge will drop, & you’ll need to charge it up again. Magazine & Reserves: • Your magazine will now appear larger, to showcase the number of bolts you have in a single clip, before reloading. For example; 1 round (currently) would instead be displayed as 7 rounds. 2 rounds would be displayed as 14, 3 as 21, & so on. Reaching Your Max Charge Potential: • Different archetypes reach their max charge time at different rates, & have longer / shorter holding times. A unique audio sound will be made, in order to let players know when they’ve reached max charge. Exotics VS Legendaries: • Exotics would be individuality tuned to work as intended, for their design.

I think being able to "hold" at max charge would be ridiculous in PvP, even if you could only hold for half a second. Just keeping it similar to Devil's Ruin seems reasonable to me. Full charge or single shot. All the partial/overcharging just seems too technical and difficult to balance. Just adding the choice between single shot and full charge would make fusion rifles much more interesting. Being able to full charge a burst on someone, and then finish them off with single shots would be an interesting dynamic. I would love to see this type of change. Also, granting the ability to deal precision damage to (most) fusion rifles is something I would add to this.
