Getting this error after battleye starts
Windows 7
This has been reported on Windows 8 and 10 as well.
Reinstalls haven't helped, replacing dll hasn't worked, reportedly upgrading to Windows 10 has had some success but also some failures.
Patience is required, but silence isn't
If you're having the same problem, please post here so we can keep the pressure up.
"which system are you having this bug on" poll: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/259508350/0/0
Our issue made it to the top of the issue list in todays TWAB, so we have some progress, however shallow it may be.

Windows 7 64-bit. Have the same launch problem.
-
I woke up in the morning with the hope that the error was fixed, as always, disappointment that I have to sit and wait for them to deign to correct the error. There is a 3rd day of the new season, 3rd day of mine without a result sitting on the forums bungie help
-
Same on win 8 yey
-
It's been 2h 30m and we don't even have a reply...
-
somehow it buggles me, seeing bungie-support-people responding to most issues, except this one...
-
Just to add one more to the numbers, I haven't been able to launch either.
-
same with win7 and missing file...
-
Windows 7 user here, reinstalled, deleted battleye etc and getting the same error as everyone else. Was looking forward to playing the new season alongside my friends and now have to wait for an undetermined amount of time to even launch the game, to call that a bummer is an understatement.
-
Same problem, Windows 7.
-
The game won't start !! The error is similar to last year's issue where the game would not launch on older PCs
-

Hello. I had the idea to make a pre-order, but now I'm starting to think that it was a very bad idea. After the update, the game has never started, Anti-cheat suspects CryptoPro CSP of something suspicious. I wrote to BattlEye so far I have not received anything intelligible in response. The game itself displays a window with the message: "The program cannot be started, because there is no program on the computer . Try reinstalling the program." What is missing is unknown. I'm beginning to suspect that BUNGiE has EFFECTIVE MANAGERS. Help me get back the game (Destiny 2) for which I paid money.

Edited by Gkarbouzi: 8/26/2021 2:47:14 PMSame here, Windows 7 user. its missing the api-ms-win-core-path-l1-1-0.dll but even after downloading it from a website, i get a system error called 0xc000007b. Bungie, fix it for God's sake. Stop ignoring it. There are a lot of people who paid for this game and not being able to play. Its unacceptable.

My friends are all waiting for me and other friend because of the error. Got the missing file and now i got (0xc000007b). Also tried verifying the game files and reinstalling netframework and c++redistrabutables to fix the previous error and nothing works.

I FIXED THE DAMN THING AND FIX IS SO STUPID I CANT BELIEVE ITS REAL WIN10 Users that had destiny2.exe blocked by battleye service: 1. Find destiny2.exe in your steam folder (browse local files) 2. Right click and uncheck "Run as administrator" 3. Start destiny 2 4. Close the process tree of destiny2 in your task manager 5. Start the game and pray it works for you

Well all you folks whining about cheaters well you got your fix.....this is truly the Season of the Lost....

Same problem here with Win 7 x 64. As mentioned in the companion post - verifying game cache, reinstalling, replacing the "missing" dlls, etc all fail. D2 ran fine yesterday before installing the update. I DO have a Win10 laptop that runs D2 wonderfully since Beyond Light, meaning - I can actually WATCH the cut scenes, and it does play the new Season of the Lost. However, it is not my main machine, and I would rather play on my desktop - which before this problem STILL could not play the cut scenes. Hope this is at least gets fixed more than that, so I can at least PLAY the game.

I honestly feel like we wont get a solution for this in a while. Feels like we are low prio and they will focus on the in game issues for the ones that can play first. Which really sucks because i/we just really want to play the new season. And get to experience it at release aswell, but yeah :)))))) Idk did they honestly test run this or just expect it to work?? Because what ive seen literally no one on w7 are able to play so it shouldve been noticed instantly in testing… Some people on w10 and other w have the same issue too so all this could impossibly just have gone under the radar. They are supposed to support w7 too and no statement from them have said they dont anymore. Its just extremely weird all of it, like they have no clue themselves whats going on and just released it unfinished. Because this isnt the only huge issue as theres so much in game too. Fix your -blam!- bungie

So, let me say first, that I totally get the resistance to upgrading to 10. I know there's been reports saying that upgrading did and didn't work. I'm just going to report what worked for me. I just finished upgrading to 10, reinstalling D2 and I'm in. Your results may vary, but I can confirm it works for me. It's not the ideal solution imo, and it's a step we shouldn't have to take as a work around, but this fixed my problem. The radio silence on this problem is both troubling and disappointing. Saying that a "small number of players" are experiencing this issue is, frankly, insulting. This is a Priority 1 Defect being treated with the same amount of concern as a Priority 5 with an easy Work Around.

Bungie will fix this, the question is how long it will take.

I have this as well. Win7. Either something from a debug build which calls an otherwise forbidden API that isn't supported snuck into the production build or... there is zero testing on this supported platform as it doesn't even hit splash screen. I REALLY hope it's the former and we get a fast patch. After the hype of the - admittedly fantastic - Witch Queen reveal, I was almost ready to order the Collector's Edition. Now everything is deferred. I refuse to 'upgrade' to spyware in Windows versions above 7 and cede control equivalent to ownership of MY computer to Microsoft. I am a longstanding PC customer and either I play on Windows 7, you release the Linux build, or I walk away from the franchise. After >3000 hours in D2, this would be painful, but I won't compromise. "Hey y'all you need to update your OS" would not be an acceptable answer, especially (as others have pointed out) given D2 Beyond Light is marketed as specifically supported on Win7 and we've paid for it, as well as this Season's content. Fingers crossed for a very swift resolution.

I will wait a couple more days if the problem is not solved I will demand to return the money to me, maybe then they will start solving the problem !!!!!!! All patience has a limit *(
