If Devotion, Bravery, Sacrifice, and Death are the requirements for being chosen by the light. I'm sure some pet dogs out there meet these requirements for sure. If your dog is devoted to it's master, brave enough to bark at any stranger that looks like it'll harm you, sacrifices itself to protect you at it's demise. In the Destiny world, You're dog may be a Guardian, and won't that be funny.

Sparing a thought for Luna. <3 You kinda don't have the criteria right though as many warlords were risen light Bearers yet weren't Guardians. Still, i like where your head is at but I'm fairly certain the main criteria is "has thumbs" closely followed by "can shoot".

Now I want a pet guardian dog in the game

The only problem with this theory is, the speaker was just making things up and rambling when he told ghaul this. That's why shortly after this he tells ghaul that he speaks for the traveler, but the traveler doesn't speak to him.

I generally like pets in games, so I could get behind having a “guardian pet.” Would like some over sized cat options as well. In Warframe I bring my Crit Kitty with me everywhere. There are few things in games more satisfying than seeing your pet come flying out of nowhere to rip an enemy to pieces.

Hate to be the grammar police….
But it should be “your dog”
Luna has to be the first dog guardian. Hive did that dog dirty but it’s questionable of why someone would bring a dog to the moon.
-
I'm picturing a Ghost yelling "Good boy!" after a Hunter Dog Guardian Blade Barrages the enemy. Wholesome.

This also would work with my theory that cats might be agents of the darkness.

momma bear!

Not if I beat them to it!
licks finger
Simps were the first light bearers

where does it say these are the requirements?

I see your point and it does make a strong point but the running theme of who the ghosts choose to be gardians is that they are sentient and are capable of complex thought and communication, although I would live to see bungie add pet companions into the game, it would add another interest dynamic and further character development, almost giving you more investment into the game
