Season of the Splicer asks me to do a full Valor reset worth of Crucible ranks. I avoid crucible like the plague, not only because i do not enjoy the gameplay to begin with, but because it is physically impossible to avoid the sheer number of hackers and lagswitchers populating the mode on PC.
I celebrated like a little kid earlier when i FINALLY had a winning game with no apparent hackers in it. I was wrong. As soon as our score hit 120, an opponent turned on a lagswitch hack as well as a positional hack that allowed him to simply shoot in random directions getting shotgun headshots on my entire team anywhere on the map. He ended up top of the leaderboard with 29 kills, winning the round.
Next round i got matched into him again and within less than 3 minutes he had 20 kills again and the ironic message in chat "Somebody should do something about Hacker".
Genuine question: At this point, am i the idiot for NOT simply downloading hacks to complete my seasonal and weekly objectives and staying the f*** away from crucible afterwards? This mode is painfully devoid of gameplay, as there is such a high percentage of the population cheating you literally take hours to find a game where someone isn't outright hacking or ragetoggles as the match comes close. I've given up on winning a single match of crucible after hours and hours of gameplay because it just doesn't happen. The few wins i get are hack-offs between multiple cheaters with russian and chinese names (Come on, i'm sitting in Germany, is this game with millions of players so dead you can't give me anyone less than 10000 kilometers away to play against?)
Serious question, at what point does it become morally okay to just accept the fact that cheats are a necessity, to use them as much as bounties / quests demand and then stop playing crucible? It goes against my personality to cheat and i REALLY don't want to, but at this point i'm hopeless in terms of ever making any progress without them because i simply cannot get any actual gameplay time against non-cheating opponents. Especially with fun quests like "Get kills with the seasonal crappy sidearm". Got 4 so far out of the 13 needed. Took me 14 crucible matches. You can imagine how much fun i'm having.

Dude, I'm with you. I grew up playing Quake 1 and used to dominate in that after years of practice. This was long before the day of injection code hacks, wall hacks, aimbots, etc. It is frustrating playing with all these hacks. On the rare occasion that I find a server without hackers I can kill people at a normal clip. I really wish they would make a version of crucible and strip out all the "magic" nonsense and just make it pure weapons.
