So excited for Accessibility at Bungie and being able to use more guns and features in the future without as much hand pain.
Things that'd be great off the top of my head.
1. Toggle controls for reading lore on gear. Holding L1? and scrolling is a nightmare.
2. Increased contrast on NPC/written text over backgrounds. The gradient black/shading can make some text hard to read. Though long term, adjustable font sizes across the board would be amazing.
3. While it's no longer an issue, avoid urgent button mashes (think earlier stasis breaks)
4. Not as easy, but an alternate way to sort inventory items like weapon categories. Brain fog from medications can make remembering items from the difficult so finding a particular weapon type or adding a favourite weapon marker or load-out options would make things easier.
5. Slight decrease in 'sprint border animation'. Thinking of sprinting on my Titan, on Europa it doesn't bother me (blue animation on blue), but places with higher contrast backgrounds like Nessus causes eye strain and fatigue. Not sure if there's a way to balance it out, have it fade a little after triggered or similar.
Love this initiative, it was great to see Naughty Dog do this (Last of Us 2 was the most accessible game I've ever played) and look forward to seeing what come next from Destiny and Bungie.
Background for accessibility.
Chronic disease from birth, mild C4-7 spinal trauma, mild ulnar claw hands, nerve pain, chronic pain + medication side effects inc. eye fatigue.
