BUFF SURPLUS
These ability changes indirectly nerf one of the best new perks Surplus. So there needs to be an increase in the potency of its benefits per ability since we’ll, like, never have them now.

1 ReplySpent a lot time grinding for surplus on some weapons, while deleting others. Had some nice rolls. This is a WTF moment. Looking back at my wasted time and now wondering, why even bother anymore?

Barricade/grenades and Melee are generally so useless I just don’t use them even half as much as other classes, surplus x3 is always up. Now with shoulder charges, grenades and barricades all nerfed into the ground, there will be even more up time!!! You have to look on the bright side.

If you’re playing revenant then it’s pretty easy to maintain full uptime on surplus x 3. Try a 6th coyote build. You’ll have 5 ability charges. You can use your grenade whenever it’s charged and have your dodge every 18 seconds (which should be plenty for anyone) without sacrificing a single benefit or surplus.

It’s hard to know what Bungie are doing until the full patch notes come out but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this as an oversight.

It's classic Bungie really. Introduce "new" things now. Make them completely useless later. Probably make you pay for a better one eventually.
