[i]Good evening everybody![/i] This is Aifos coming to you alive from New Meridian, with two—count ‘em TWO big announcements for you! First and foremost, Umbrella was already announced a while back, and has been in Alpha for quite a while, but now we finally have a release window; that’s right, Umbrella will be releasing for Skullgirls 2nd Encore* in early 2022! Umbrella wields the Living Weapon Hungern; who as his name implies is a bottomless well of gluttony! Likewise, Umbrella’s gameplay will primarily revolve around her Hunger mechanic; Hungern’s appetite will slowly drain over time, and can be refilled by certain moves where Hungern chomps down on his opponents! As she’s still in pre-release, I sadly don’t know everything this affects, but we know that balancing his hunger shall be key! That’s not her only trick, though; she can also shoot out bubbles, that can trap her opponents, create temporary platforms, and puddles for her to splash in! Fun! Now, onto the second announcement! The 3rd Season Pass* character has been announced! That’s right, it’s none other than the Medici assassin, Black Dahlia! Once, Black Dahlia was nearly killed, and left for dead on the streets. Like many others, however, she was rescued by the Anti-Skullgirls Labs, and transformed into a cyborg. She resided there for many years, before eventually going rogue, and signing on with the Medicis. Among her many grim jobs, she was responsible for murdering the Contiellos, including fellow now-undead playable character, Squigly. Edit: And as a nifty fun fact I just learned, she’s not only a rogue ASG soldier, she was the first ASG soldier ever made! Pretty nifty! Personally, I was hoping for Minette, but it’s nice to have another villain on the roster, especally one working for the Medicis instead of the Skullgirl. With the third Season Pass character revealed, there’s only one left! And with so many options on who it could be… Well, it’s actually pretty obvious who they’re going to choose, but I’ll act like I’m holding you in suspense anyway! If the Season Pass sells well enough, Future Club has stated they might add a 5th character onto the pass, and that one could [i]actually[/i] be anyone (like Minette!), so I’m here to say to go buy it now! Do it! And on one final note, Umbrella is coming to Mobile, too, and the same can most likely be said for Dahlia. *note, the Season Pass (including Annie, Umbrella, Black Dahlia, and the 1-2 unrevealed characters) is only available to Second Encore versions of Skullgirls. This means, unfortunately, Xbox players are out of luck, unless/until Skullgirls gets a new port on the One/S/X. Assuming it follows the same trend as Annie, Umbrella will be released on PC & PS4 at the same time early 2022. Switch will be receiving the DLC at a later date. Umbrella [i]should[/i] be available in her Alpha build right now on PC.. Probably. [b][u]Tl;dr? Here’s my point![/u][/b] Black Dahlia, the ruthless Medici assassin, shall be coming to Skullgirls Second Encore! Umbrella, the younger princess of the Canopy Kingdom, will be getting her release early 2022! Xbox doesn’t have Second Encore, so sadly they will not be getting this DLC.
