PSA: Powered Sword Hits does not mean Heavy Sword Hits

I keep seeing this misconception throughout the community regarding perks that reference Powered Sword Hits/kills. Too often I see people saying that perks like Tireless Blade are useless because they only trigger on heavy attacks, which is most certainly not a thing. I have even recently seen this misunderstanding parroted by popular content creators in regards to the Cold Steel perk. A Powered Sword Hit/kill in the context of a sword perk simply means an attack/kill performed while the sword has ammo; this can be either a Light of Heavy attack. It does NOT have to be a Heavy attack. "Powered" in this context simply means the sword has ammo.

  • It's definitely poor wording on their part, since you're not going to be swinging the sword at enemies without ammo, invalidating the need to specify perks only work with ammo.
