Story Post: Replacments

An earthshaking explosion wakes most of offtopic from their slumber, but most grumble angrily and go back to sleep. However, a certain group consisting of a sentient tank, a mechanic, and a commander react much more excitedly. “They’ve arrived!” The shout resounds throughout the restaurant. Lacking homes, the agent crew all sleep in the restaurant itself, and this wakes everyone who managed to sleep through the eardrum-shattering boom. “Damnit, Commander, I don’t have to get up for THIS! You go do it!” Jon yells from the second floor. “What Jon said, I need me beauty sleep!” Alchemist grumbled from under the drunk bar. Commander sighs, and Mechanic echoes. Oh well, they’d just have to go on their own. The pair ran outside, and whistled loudly, earning some incoherent angry yelling from one of the apartment complexes. However, Panzer did come rumbling from behind the building, trilling excitedly, so the whistle did as was intended. Commander and Mechanic clamber up and enter through their respective hatches, hurriedly turn on the space heater, and Panzer rumbles off towards the landing site, or atleast where he thought it was. “The coordinates were right here!” Commander swears, after about 3 hours of driving in what Panzer was sure was a large circle. Mechanic sighed annoyedly and flipped the map on its side. Commander nodded his head thoughtfully, flipped the map back, and pointed in a direction. Neither Panzer nor Mechanic was sure if it was the right one, but they had all day. They hoped. -Another 3 hours later- “Look, back there!” Panzer trilled his engine, and slammed his breaks, making Commander almost fall out of Panzer. Slowly rotating, trying not to knock over a tree, Panzer was shaking Commander around, who was sitting out of the hatch. Mechanic, being smart, was strapped into the driver's seat. When they finally got turned around, Panzer finally rumbled into the clearing, nearby where Newcomer had landed, all that time ago. The clearing was obviously caused by the shockwave of the Orbital Entry Pods, (or whatever HQ had decided to call them), but atleast the two pods had landed nearby. Commander walked over and opened the pods, and Mechanic radioed the ship that had dropped them, and soon the two agents walked out. More accurately, clanked out. The two agents were clad in full suits of alloy armor, painted gray. The two agents seemed to talk to each other, making hand gestures, but Commander heard nothing. It was very hard for Commander to muster the courage to talk to them, as they were maybe 6 inches taller than him, probably partly aided by the armor. Hopefully. One of the agents, who had a snake insignia on their armor, noticed Commander standing on his tippy toes very angrily, and tapped the side of his head. “Sorry, mate, I forgot to turn on my suit mic. Wassup, I’m Nathan.” He held out his hand, which Commander tried to shake in a dignified manner. The other agent, with a tiger on their armor, did the same. “And ya can call me Sal. We come from the Demon Snake Regiment, Oddball Company. We had to draw straws because only two could come, so James, our leader, couldn’t come. So, what’s happening here, that requires us?” Commander took off his hat and ruffled his hair, he realized he had forgotten to take his morning shower. “Ah, our restaurant is short of staff. Also, Mech and Newcomer had to go. You know why, right?” Sal nodded. “Well, I think I can cook. I picked up some from Will, I think. What kind of restaurant?” “Hot dog, you can cook? Rad. I don’t think I can. I won’t have to be a janitor, right?” Nathan looked as worried as he could in a full suit of armor, that didn’t allow any expression to show. The questions weren’t numerous, nor were they very intense, but Commander seemed overwhelmed, so much so that Mechanic had to step in. “All we need is, conveniently, a cook, for our 3rd floor, and someone who can use guns well to man the firing range.” Mechanic said complacently. “No way, a restaurant with a Firing Range, count me in!” Nathan looked as if he would be jumping up and down with excitement, if he could. Apparently his suit’s jumping function hadn’t calibrated to the gravity yet. Well, at least the restaurant would have new staff, now.
I'd ask for constructive criticism but I'm perfect so of course I wont need it (please give it)
