I just think that taking away the ability to get away from a fight and heal by absorbing your grenade is a hard nerf. You have to kill someone to get devour to proc. What if I want to proc it before I even engage the gunfight? I truly hope this change is reverted.

Until we get our hands into void 3.0 it is hard to say definitively what is a nerf and what isn’t. What looks like it could be a nerf could easily be offset by a slight change in play style. Where you may find you have more versatility and utility with just a little loss to ease of use. You may have to spec a little differently but could find yourself with more uptime overall when it counts. With some of the stuff we are gaining with void 3.0, not all of which will be there day one, we may not miss some of the current void set up nearly as much as we think we will. If anybody thought that void 3.0 would be uncompromisingly 100% buffs where we’d just custom build the most OP void build off everything we have now and new more powerful void abilities, they don’t pay attention to Bungie at all. It’s not even like Bungie needs void 3.0 to sell WQ, like stasis needed to be powerful to sell Beyond Light. Void 3.0 is free to everyone. There’s no benefit to Bungie releasing void 3.0 to be so powerful that it invalidates the difficulty of any and every activity. We may get some of the lost abilities back by way of Aspects or Exotics. But that in and of itself will still be a compromise for us to use those instead of others. And you know what, we may not even want to because the we’re better off with other synergies.
