Whatever changes Bungie did to Stasis crystals after they removed freezing for Glacier grenade absolutely ruined Behemoth's heavy attack. When I say "They broke its slam", I don't mean "broken" as in "overpowered". I mean "broken" as in "fundamentally at its most basic level not working as it should". The initial slam's freeze is incredibly inconsistent and the crystals you spawn out in front of you outright fail to freeze enemy players even if they're caught in them. I have included four videos of myself failing to freeze players who were absolutely within either the initial slam's freeze radius or the radius of its crystals to freeze them so others can see what I mean.

There is absolutely no reason to run Behemoth whatsoever because it's such an F-tier super now, and I say this as a Behemoth main. It has no armor to speak of for a melee-only roaming super, super slow without spending all of your super energy chasing down one person running away from you, and even then they'll still probably escape. Not to mention that it is also a T1 Super and takes the longest time to charge for arguably the worst Super in the game and easily the worst T1 Super in the game. It also has slow, clunky af animations that take ridiculously long to perform and more often than not get you killed or stuck on the corner of invisible map geometry, and to top it off, a heavily nerfed, inconsistent neutral kit that is a shadow of its former self.
People are actually encouraged to fight you in your super because Behemoth's attack animations are pitifully slow and easy to evade, the freeze barely works, and your insanely weak super armor is absolutely worthless against a shotgun + melee or fusion rifle player (which you're going to have to deal with for every single player because you have to be in their face to kill them). You should not be encouraged to fight any super by yourself without a Vorpal weapon at minimum or teamshotting it to death with teammates. When I fight Behemoths, I am not afraid of them whatsoever because they're so weak and inconsistent. All I have to do is backpedal with a fusion rifle or shotgun + melee them for a free kill and they wasted their super. Or I can just simply run away and make them spend their entire super trying to chase me down because the melee speed, range and energy cost got nerfed so heavily.
There desperately needs to be a reworking of some kind, or buffs to Behemoth's entire kit (and Stasis in general imo), because outside of the free fragment stat boots, there is no reason to run this over Thundercrash, top tree Sentinel (bubble), or bottom tree Sunbreaker. This problem is only going to worsen when Void 3.0 releases and whoever is left maining Titan will move to main Sentinel and its new T5 Bubble with fresh aspects and fragments. Behemoth, in my opinion, is the weakest roaming super in the game and will continue to be F-tier and the least played Titan subclass as long as it remains in this terrible state. And before anyone asks, no, I do not want Behemoth to be in its Beyond Light launch state where it was egregiously overpowered along with Stasis in general. But right now, it isn't in any kind of decent state whatsoever, and I think Stasis, in general, got hit way too hard for PvP.

Behemoth has the lowest damage resistance of any melee Super, no more area freeze on cast, slow as molasses movement, and the enemies hear you coming from a mile away. Not to mention the inconsistencies that you pointed out with the heavy attack and shiver strike hit detection. It is without a doubt the worst super in the game. And now that Glacial grenades do not freeze and do even less damage to targets, Behemoth has nothing going for it.
