The update to "fix" the void soul's behaviour made it better, yes, but it was FAR from sufficient. It still gets stuck on terrain, usually if the original target dies on route, then it'll just yeet itself in a random direction instead of trying to target the next nearest enemy.
But the biggest issue currently is that it simply refuses to go anywhere half the time. This is especially egregious in crucible, where I can land a headshot with a hand cannon and the void soul is somehow still not motivated to go after that target. I want it to be helping me get a kill, not flying out there when my target is already an inch from death so that I've killed it myself before the soul even gets there! How useless is that? An ability whose time to activate and travel to the enemy (if it travels at all) is longer than the average TTK with any given primary. There's no excuse for this.

If it were actually useful in crucible, the hunter mains would be in here immediately and wouldn't shut up until it was nerfed into insignificance. To prevent this, Bungo just gives us tuned down abilities to avoid the commotion. Nobody cares about warlocks. Even the guardian games is a sham. There's no way were actually winning.

I just wish my slovabomb would stop tracking people on the other side of walls😒
-
That is because void soul need multiple hits to go somewhere. Which it says in the aspect. Reading is hard.

I don't know in PvP that thing is -blam!- annoying. Seems to work just fine for my enemy. They tag me and bam in comes that little -blam!- flying at me. Locks down the area I was at and forces a retreat. Like the grenades and that stupid new melee they got weren't enough.

Edited by RockNotABoulder: 5/6/2022 10:35:44 PMI don't play warlock atm so I don't know how annoying it is. But anytime I get hit by void soul I usually just give up. It's essentially an instant win for whoever is using it simply because it creates 2 targets that I need to shoot that both do damage to me. Even if I continue to fight you, and end up winning. I'll likely get consumed by the soul. Also I main titan. So the slow actually affects me. I don't just get to dodge out of it.
-
Why are you using it in pvp when arc soul with the gloves is so much more effective? Void soul will never be as effective as that.
-
It’s incredibly good in trials.
-
Literally just started gearing my warlock for this season this week and even I can tell how easy to use and strong this ability is. Goes around corners and over terrain. I haven't had it get hung up once
-
Yeah I'm sorry but it's clear you don't get how good Void soul is or something. You need to be using Arc Soul's for PVP anyway, for like really obvious reasons. 0/10
-
What’s a void soul? Is that the purple ball of void that chases me around corners and down halls and stuff? The thing that makes you volitile? I know the Child is the suck suck ball, just not sure what this is…

Edited by The Rat King: 5/6/2022 11:11:35 PMIt’s fine as is.
Felt left out.
It literally just sits on your face most of the time doing nothing.

If you get hit by it you will more then likely die to anyone nearby
-
It goes to the nearest enemy where you aimed. Ive never heard of it curving that wasnt its target
-
Yeah It happens a lot, I noticed its not about the amount of damage you do but the amount of hits you land. I can land 3-4 shots with an smg across the map and the orb will travel to the enemy player. If I land one hit with the scout it just wont even bother. I assume this was to avoid the orb traveling towards enemies that get one shot in pve but its also affecting pvp in that sense. The traveling speed is terrible and tracking has been buffed a bit but I don’t think its enough, majority of the time its just hitting walls or floors. Its not the worse ability in the game but its definitely in need of another buff. It doesn’t have to deal a ton of damage or anything, it just needs to be consistent.
-
Yeah don't forget that mf so lazy it be tryna take short cuts to get to targets too and be hitting walls and just decides to say -blam!- it.
-
Just shoot it.
