I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with the manner in which armor mods are unlocked. I've been hoping to purchase "bountiful wells" from Ada-1 for quite some time (about 3 months), but to no avail. To my knowledge, the mod has not been available through Ada-1 throughout the entire time I've been seeking to unlock it, though I can not confirm it because - like most people - I have work, college, and other activities that prevent me from logging on every day of the week. My frustration lies less in how difficult it has been to find "bountiful wells", but rather how difficult it would be to unlock any one specific mod.
Destiny 2's gameplay is very grindy due to it's looter-shooter nature. This also means that rng is a huge part of the game; I do not take particular issue with rng because the more you play, the more chances you have at getting higher level gear, guns, etc - hence the grindy nature of the game. This gameplay style can also be seen through the various faction levels that players must traverse in order to unlock special items or other content. The fact is, all of Destiny 2 is grindy. It's what I have come to expect from Destiny 2, and it's what I've come to love about it too. That being said, Ada-1's armor mod sales run very contrary to the nature of the game.
No matter how many times I run a nightfall, or how many bounties I complete, or how many times I level up, it will never result in more/better chances at getting ANY advanced armor mod. If bad rng is offset by more rng through more playtime, then the only thing helping us unlock specific mods in destiny is luck, and last time I checked, there was no luck stat in destiny. Ada-1's armor mod sale needs to be revamped to better match the nature of the game.
I would rather it be incredibly difficult to unlock a mod rather than nigh near impossible. I'm fine if there are only a certain number we can unlock every season, but regardless, I want more control over which mode I unlock. If that means if Ada-1 sells bounties that give us currency to unlock mods (similar to the current synthweave system, or I would be fine with unlocking mods with synthweave for that matter), then I would gladly welcome it. If certain strikes/ dungeons have small a chance of dropping certain mods, then I have something to grind for and you'll know where to find me. The bottom line is that the system needs to be revamped so that more play time or higher difficulty activities result in more chances to unlock armor mods. I don't care how that system looks at this point so long as it is an improvement over what we have now.
I still love the game, and I'm going to continue to grind out my other goals, but we would be mistaken to think the game is perfect.
Please work on this Bungie!

I waited 7 months to get my very last warmind mod cellular suppression. Always check ada. I have a discord that has a bot in it that tells adas daily vendor so it helps. Can even search in discord that mod name to show when it was last sold as well to cross reference how long each has sold. Ada should have a catalog and we should be allowed to buy them imo. It would give every player access to it just like the exotic kiosk they added, that way builds are more accessible to new and returning players.
