Hello fellow Gurdians,
This will be my first ever on the forums since I started playing destiny back in 2014. As you can see I’ve been around this community since the beginning and I want to express my gratitude to Bungie for making a game I LITERALLY grew up with.
With that being said, September is the month of Child Cancer Awareness, the month of wearing gold. I lost my child hood bestfriend to pancreatic cancer while in the 5th grade, and I’ve always made an effort to wear an accessory, socks, or shirt that is a gold colored to support and remember him by.
Guardians I’m not asking for everyone to wear gold, but seeing an entire tower full of gold or even being to run public events or play PvP and see fellow guardians supporting the gold would be pretty awesome!
This post isn’t also about me about guardians or parent guardians if you lost someone to cancer or lost a child to cancer please let this be your safe place on sharing your experience and what helped overcome you dark days. Just know I’ll be finding the best gold color shaders on fashion for each class and will post a fashion thread to help support those who want to wear gold.

Not to change the subject but it is also suicide awareness month
-
I just pressed a few buttons on my controller and changed my shader on all my characters. Did we beat it yet?
-
Yeah that’ll really help out people dying of cancer
-
I'm yellow asf

Just out of curiosity, if we as a "community" of Guardians can get come "together" in changing our shaders in support of Childhood Cancer and Cancer then why can't we as a "community" of Guardians stop the bullying of other Guardians? If we can change one thing, we can change another.

I’m good

Ill be logging in with my brightest gold. F cancer dude. Many have lost family to it. Bump
-
F cancer man It’s good to see people rising against cancer Stay strong you can guarantee I’ll be wearing gold this September

F. Cancer. I've been dealing with stage 3 b Melanoma for just over a year. It all fuggin sucks. I've seen kids with cancer and that is especially hard to watch. However they are also some of the toughest kids I've ever seen. Brings a tear knowing this community is supporting this cause. Bravo. I also know it's suicide awareness month as well. I alternate shaders in support. To those here thar have lost someone or have been diagnosed yourself, my heart goes out to you Gaurdian. Eyes up. Stay strong.

Calus Treasured or Shadow is probably the best gold shaders in the game
-
I'll slap on my one gold shader 😅

We found out today that my 10 year old daughter's very close friend has cancer. Her parents are understandably in shock. I didn't tell my daughter yet. Even though I lost my own mom to cancer when I was only 15, I can't even begin to imagine what her parents must be going through. I'm not very spiritual but I find myself praying for a happy ending to that little girl's ordeal. Kids should not have to deal with this horrible illness. It's just so unfathomable...

I better see every last one of you dipped in butter and absolutely glowing. I want the tower to look like Scrooge McDucks vault. I wanna see all of you absolutely shining.
-
Already seen plenty of gold guardians, love to see it Bungie Should drop a free golden shader so everyone can get behind it
-
I was looking for some petitions regarding bungie helping spread awareness by adding a shader and/or emblem and could not find anything. I went ahead and made one just to try and get bungie's attention. Any help would be greatly appreciated to attempt to have people (and guardians) fight cancer! Thank you everyone!

Man Screw cancer. Just lost my aunt to it. My aunt sister has it, my aunt on my father side has a terminal cancer it's just sad man. Shout out to all the survivors man. I wish goverments them selves would all work together and make this the number one priority, along with other permanent diseases like lupus, MS , als, -blam!-.

Edited by 제 에임은 혼란, 한편이죠.: 9/3/2022 12:05:16 PMoh I didn't know about the meaning of September and gold before I read this post. I made a small donation to a foundation, and I'm going to paint my armors in gold soon. hope it helps at least a little. really sorry for everyone's loss.

I already use golden trace all the time it's one of my favorite shaders
-
Can the gold have blue in the shader?
-
I hope they bring that info of gold shader in the next twab, would be very cool

Edited by Hardcore_Uproar: 9/2/2022 4:43:12 PMI have had prostate cancer. Twice. If people want to support any cause important to them here's what you do, find a group or whatever that do good work in support of it and give them some money, your time or even just a note of support. Do something tangible. Wearing a shader in a Destiny 2 does nothing for children with cancer, nothing. Telling "your story" does nothing. Group virtue signalling does nothing.

@bungie put a gold shader in eververse rotation
-
What shader would you recommend?
-
Gold it is

Lost my cousin to colon cancer back in 2018. We weren’t very close, but the time I got to spend with him towards the end made me wish I had. He was an amazing guy. Hurt my dad the most cause they grew up together. My grandmother on my moms side has had ovarian cancer I think four times? As well as a stroke. She’s still fighting and just turned 80 a couple weeks ago. But man is cancer a -blam!-. Yes, I will wear gold this week. And a gold emblem if I can find one, and I’ll equip Ace with the Osiris ornament.
