Its not x) There is no places where its usefull Its only good whrn you need constant dps for a long time...aka never. And damage wise, some slug shotguns are better (not to mention linears)

Okay? The point is that Whisper is already teetering on best in slot as it is in the right context. The only issue is that Bungie has buffed linears 17 times in the last year or two so they’re getting closer to just power creeping everything into oblivion. Whisper is going to catch a massive nerf if it changes slots for whatever ungodly reason and it’s absolutely not going to compete with other exotic specials.

It’s already one of the most damaging weapons in the game It would easily be a 40%+ nerf. All specials got a huge nerf when they moved to the slot from heavies. You’re delusional if you think Whisper wouldn’t get axed.

The only reason I want in the special slot so I can use it in pvp. It’s my favorite sniper and I want to use it more there. It’s strange yes but I’ll bet usage will be increased more because of the archetype swap. This is the last time I’m stating this.

No, it’d get a 40% damage nerf as a special… they’re not giving us access to heavy damage on a special… it’d be best in slot. Just launch your rockets as quick as possible and switch to Whisper. It would be metaforever just for it’s insane damage unless it’s left a heavy.

Sooo… you want it to be used less. And you’re actively advocating for that. Gotcha. It’s claim to fame as a heavy is being a very strong sustained damage option. That’s a relative niche as a heavy. Whisper would lose that niche, especially since we already have loads of exotic specials that are good sustained damage. With the inevitable damage nerf it would get, it just wouldn’t compete and there would be even less reason to use it. It’s great that you want to use it in PvP but you’re arguing for making the weapon a genuine trash heap to get that request filled out.

I do agree with you that it may lose it’s niche a bit. But again I don’t think they will butcher the weapon because we had this type of weapon before in the previous game like twice. Whisper and Darci have been left in the dust by power creep. I’d rather they come back as specials with slight adjustments so they don’t feel broken this way they’ll have some relevance. I gave ideas to maybe change the gun. For me, it’s just hard to use it pvp because heavy spawns are risky. If you had to move it to the special slot what would change?

It’s hard to use in PvP because it’s not a -blam!- PvP weapon lmao. And that wouldn’t change even remotely if it changed slots. It would just be a garbage PvP weapon that takes special instead of heavy. Without massive changes to its stats and a general fundamental overhaul to the general feel/handling of the gun, it would never work as a PvP weapon. Whisper hasn’t been “left in the dust”. Considering it hasn’t gotten major attention in years, it is only just now really getting actual competition for the most part. It [b]would[/b] get left in the dust if you took away its ability to even hope to compete and just thrash its stats to be able to dump it into the energy slot. All it needs is a couple minor buffs and it would be incredibly meta. If I were to make it a special weapon, I’d honestly just remove it from the game at that point. Because it’s going to go from relatively niche but still effective straight to actual garbage.

You’re not listening. I didn’t say it was a pvp weapon. I said it is hard to use because heavy is hard to lockdown without getting shot at these days. At one point Merciless was a dps meta until power creep and it got moved to the special slot. Not much got changed for it. I may be comparing a fusion with a sniper but the point is I do not think massive changes will occur as you say. I do not agree with you in that regard and of course don’t take anything personally I ain’t throwing hate.

Bruh Merciless didn’t get powercrept. The slots got fundamentally overhauled which is an entirely different situation. If you think Whisper isn’t going to get heavily changed as a special weapon you’re just completely ignoring what happened with Forsaken and the slot changes.

Eh. Whatever you say man. I just want to use the gun more in pvp that’s all, even though it’s a pve gun. Brings back memories of the hammer and spindle. I wish there was a way to balance it like this.

Can’t you just find like, literally any other weird off pick that’s bad in PvP? Probably one that’s a special weapon? It’s like if I got really upset about Acrius not being good in PvP despite the fact that it’s not a PvP weapon and isn’t even slightly practical for it.

Ever since the archetype swaps of weapons I couldn’t hold onto whisper no more. I used a variety of snipers but I wanted to pull out the number 1 once in a while. But it’s been difficult for me due to sbmm forcing me to think twice about pushing heavy to get ammo for it. I wanted this weapon to be more accessible in pvp. But..It is what it is.
