What needs to happen is folks need to do Heroic Events properly and Heroic Events should drop high tier destination loot and a chance at an exotic.
If Heroic Events dropped an exotic on chance folks would actually learn them finally....in 8 years....
Public Events always were unrewarding and because of that they have never been utilized as they were advertised.
Exciting Community Public Events.
Remember how good Escalation Protocol was? Just walk into Mars and a group would be doing it. It was a good event because people knew there was a carrot. People love Destiny for that carrot. Public Events have no carrot.

That's just silly. Expecting an exotic for such low level blueberry content. You must be having trouble completing legendary lost sectors if you're asking for that.

You are not making any sense because Destiny is not about “skill” it’s about gambling. Maybe today you’ll get that scratcher ticket drop. Has nothing to do with skill. And yeah folks should have a carrot to chase in Destiny otherwise they won’t do the activities correctly. Case and Point: Public Events. No point in playing them correctly. Because they don’t give good loot. Again Destiny is not about Skill it’s about Gambling. Live Service Gambling. EDIT: LEGENDARY LOST SECTORS ARE BEHIND A PAY WALL. Lol literally nothing about Champions requires skill. What it does require is a $20 season pass each 90 days to have access to barrier mods. Which you can only get if you buy the season pass. Not to mention the astronomical amount of effort it takes to get the spoils of conquest for some exotics. My dewd, on what planet is that the same effort as a 5 minute public event? There's a couple instances where you do get some freebie stuff but it's not all just handed to you for the effort it takes to do a single public event. Let's be realistic now, brudda Also, a blueberry isn't completing a legendary lost sector until they get their light level up, you won't even have access to them. Legendary lost sectors start becoming available at about the right time in your playthrough. Not right at the beginning of your playthrough as a blueberry like a public event. EDIT: Everything is behind a paywall if you're not a free to play player, so essentially you haven't made a point here. You're talking like it's not possible to get any exotics if you don't pay for them and that's just a blatantly false statement. Exotics DO drop in the world and you still have Xur and other content that gives exotics like raids. But sure, let's just give them away for doing nothing but public events, lmao Also, I play on PS5.
