I don’t understand why dawn blade takes longer to get than Golden Gun you can survive shots from Dawnblade or straight up dodge it unlike golden gun where you can just shoot and get an instant kill. Makes no sense to me…
Because it's the shortest roaming super in the game with no armor or speed increase?

Dawnblade is actually legit shorter.
-
It's not. Never has been
-
Not on paper, but considering dashing and yeeting swords both drain your super quite a bit...
-
Not on paper, but considering dashing and yeeting swords both drain your super quite a bit...
If you want to talk about usage, you can let off all 6 shots from GG in under 2 seconds. Still the shortest super. And you get no extra movement speed. So the shortest super has no way to cross the map while Dawnblade can.
-
Dawnblade speed is most of the time overkill, plus the blade animation is so slow that you can be constantly chucking blades the whole way through. With Goldie, you can get kills instantaneously with one shot. No clumsy animation, third person, or travel time. Also sometimes more tracking and aim assist.
-
Doesn't change that is the shortest super with no speed or armor. It's one of the only 2 supers in the game with damage falloff. And the bullets don't always register either just like how normal guns work. Original comment was asking why it's a faster cooldown. Because it's the shorter super.
-
Fair, but it's still been named the best roaming super for skilled players. I think that holds some merit.
-
Ok? And I never said it was bad. I'm pointing out why the cooldown is shorter than Dawnblade. Which was the point here
-
Okay, well my point is that duration shouldn't be the only factor.
-
The no speed increase, no armor, and one of the only 2 supers in the game with damage falloff are the other factors. Can we stop going in a circle?

Alright man. To each their own. I'm not holding a grudge. I'm all for buffs either way. Have a good afternoon

From a purely pvp stand point. How many 7th columns do people get with dawnblade vs gg?
-
And from a real pvp standpoint outside of mayhem, and with people who aren't bot walking how many real times do they get 7th columns? Mayhem means nothing. Never did. GG is the shortest super in the game. Period. If people want to talk about usage in super it's still the shortest. Period. I'm not saying it's bad. It's really good. But facts are still facts. And THAT is why it's a faster cooldown than dawnblade

You must not have played recently. Every kill extends the duration. No longer just 6 shots. Or short
-
Edited by A Traffic Cone: 10/1/2022 12:12:53 AMIt doesn't extend duration. You get an extra shot if it kills. 15 seconds if you're using that one aspect. Otherwise it's 10 seconds. You're still wrong
-
10 to 15 seconds sounds like an extension to me? I mean I'm no genius here
-
10 to 15 seconds sounds like an extension to me? I mean I'm no genius here
And apparently you have a hard time reading as well. 10 seconds base. 15 seconds with a fragment. Still the shortest roaming super in the game. The only way to extend the duration of GG in super is in the 3 shot variant. Needs 1 headshot and then you've only got 2 shots left. 6 shooter is 15 seconds at max if you don't fire the shots. And at that 15 seconds is still shorter than every other super in the game. With the aspect equipped. So..... can you understand it now?
-
Also as I said it's not just 6 shots gg can get. And there's a few different ways to get more shots then just this.
-
Also as I said it's not just 6 shots gg can get. And there's a few different ways to get more shots then just this.
It does NOT MATTER for duration. You get no timer increase unless you use 3 shot dude. This isn't an argument. It still shortest.
-
Well again you are just plain wrong. And I'll end this conversation with chaos reach. 4 second base. 8 with geomags. You obviously don't hunter, and don't pay attention to what goes on when playing against one.
-
Wow. That's such a blatantly false statement I can't belive you would type that thinking Chaos reach has a 4 second timer on it. And its not a roaming super either. If you were trying to say that you can activate it and cancel it at 4 seconds to be "short" you still don't realize you get to fire off all 6 shots from GG in under 2 seconds. I don't know where you're getting your info from, but thats tragic.

Edited by xbroggiex: 10/1/2022 2:57:26 PMThe whole argument that it only lasts 2 seconds because you can shoot off all 6 shots is a bit disingenuous because you are assuming every player is shooting off all 6 shots and not hitting anything to argue it has the shortest duration. In reality most 6 shots are going for almost the full 10-15 second duration as they only need to slot a single fragment that gives them a bullet back each kill. If you compare this to dawnblade you only have that short duration which is about the same as GG but as you use attacks or icarus dash it drains your energy faster, meaning you can only get off 3-5 blades before it runs out if you don't use any dashes to move around which is usually necessary for larger maps. So it does stand to reason that Dawnblade should have a cooldown time decrease to account for the fact it has no way of extending its duration like before, unlike GG which can extend with a fragment and aspect by increasing the total duration of the super and increasing the capability of it by granting ammo back on kills. That and travel time of projectiles needs factored into super power as GG is hitscan while DB is projectile and most of the time you can easily dodge a DB attack while with GG they only need to hit you once in the body with a hitscan weapon with increased aim assist to kill. If they miss a shot it doesn't matter as if they hit their next shot they only lost 1 bullet instead of 2, while with dawnblade you don't get anything back from using a second blade to kill a target.
