I played Season of the Haunted from day one, every single week, and didn't unlock all my deepsights by the end. Still don't have Epicurean. I did every story mission, I did the dungeon multiple times a week, well over fifty runs of Containment. all multiple characters and still didn't unlock every weapon by the end, much less actually grind them out to finish. I was hoping that would be as worst as it'd go, but this season you intended to make it WORSE. I can't take it anymore, man. I'm not having fun.
Crafted weapons are objectively superior to random rolls. Random rolls have absolutely nothing over crafted versions. Random rolls mean nothing if the weapon's craftable. But getting deepsights is now about as bad as getting perfect 5/5 god rolls, but gated weekly and demand grinding through tons of activities.
I don't feel like crafting makes grinding better now. Five deepsights, up to five weeks to guarantee ONE weapon pattern that you then have to grind out further is way too much.
I've played through and enjoyed every season & expansion of Destiny since Shadowkeep by myself, but now I'm done. The grind for deepsights and then upgrading them every single season and expansion is so long that I don't even get to think about what activities I actually want to DO anymore. I'm not having fun.
Crafting started as an exciting, novel feature that I felt promised to make me attached to my weapons and fix one of Destiny's worst problems, but has now become the worst, longest, least satisfying grind in the game. I don't want to play anymore if all I do is pray for red borders.

Game has been boring since Activision left. Some of the worse game designs I’ve seen in gaming, if not the worst. Haha!🤣 Broken game.
-
Its doesn't help that once you do finish a deepsight you have another 3-6 hours of grinding to do to get the perks you want.
-
take a break. The game will be here when you come back

See you next week
Bungie you need better algo, dude's talking about not getting -blam!- done even with high playtime and your bots are copypasting the stop-playing replies

Edited by Vorvadoss: 10/5/2022 4:55:11 PMThe crafting system feels ill-conceived, rushed, half-baked, poorly implemented, and at odds with itself. Not sure what they were thinking. All I can say is, what you see is what you get, and what you get is a pretty poor and highly frustrating experience.
-
They're trying to extend thin seasonal content. In addition to the annoying red grind... The low material caps causes pressure on my vault space... Trying to save reds... What's messed up is if you don't use enhanced perks you can pretty easily change perks, but if you use enhanced it costs a fortune to change. I think you should be able to add multiple enhanced perks per column. If you level up a crafted weapon, those levels should carry over if you craft a 2nd or 3rd weapon crafted.
-
I got lucky, I got all 5 Z-Banes red borders in my first 3 clears of kings fall.
-
Spent 8hrs grinding Dare of Eternity for the BXR got two in all that time, absolutely shocking
-
If the gameplay loop just to get umbral energy wasn't so fúcking atrocious, it wouldn't be bad. On top of it you need 12 energy PER weapon? Hell no. Time to go back to the drawing board.
-
I just stopped doing it. Its not very fun.
-
If they would just reduce the requirement from 5 to 3 weapon patterns for all weapons across the board (yes including raid weapons which are even harder to get than everything else) it would relieve SO much stress and frustration. Bungie claims to be all about mental health and all that, and then they pull this season on us. Trying to get a group of strangers together for even ONE raid in a week is draining enough. The overwhelming majority of us don't play this game for a living, and the few that do will find a way to get their content regardless. It's not our fault if they get everything in the first week and get bored. It's not our fault that they put all their eggs in one basket. Please stop punishing us so you can pander to them.

Edited by JD: 10/6/2022 4:04:04 AMSo don’t do it easy. Random rolls mean nothing if you want to take the time to craft. If you want to craft don’t complain about the grind.
-
You don’t really need to unlock every pattern, and it’s even less urgent considering theres no more content sunsetting. It seems that most of the people complaining about this stuff are the people who feel the pressure to complete literally everything as soon as possible. Honestly, things become way more enjoyable when you just play what you want and target for the gear you actively want to use. Don’t feel the pressure to tick every box or you’ll burn yourself out.
-
What's wrong with regular weapons? You're not entitled to godroll weapons.
-
I kinda only want the arc glaive from the leviathan thing, the rapid pulse and maybe the bow from the mind hack stuff and the battle rifle (with burning rounds) and maybe the dares shotgun. The dares sword where you can leave arc damage behind sounds cool too, so maybe One of those if I don’t have it drop. I’d also like the bow from the throne world activity. I like bows I’m just bad at using bows lol.
-
Forget redboarders, if it happens it happens. Have fun and do what you like.

Edited by JD: 10/5/2022 3:50:43 PMSo don’t craft then Easy and you can skip that seasonal challenge. Crafting is a side thing to chase you don’t have to do it. You can do everything in the game without crafted weapons or enhanced perks. Get your guaranteed deep sights each week and that’s it. If you’re that worried about crafting every seasonal weapon run master ketch. I can literally craft all of them already.
-
I’m done with crafting too mostly, unless eventually I get to craft battler, but I’m not holding my breath. The worst part is you do not need crafted weapons for anything once you realize your playstyle impacts your success much more than builds or weapons. Good enough weapons can be had with much less hassle than craftable weapons.
-
If you’re there take a break. The game will be here when you come back. There are plenty of weeks left in the season to get the seasonal stuff, and if it’s that much of a pain to skip just log back in once a week to do the story missions and buy a deepsight weapon from the vender. All the others you have plenty of time to get. Should deepsights have a little bit better of a drop rate? Probably. Are enhanced perks that much better than base perks? Just slightly. Does that mean you should ruin your time and treat the game like a job over them? Definitely not. Take a break, and come back when you feel like you want to play again.
-
At this point, I only get the guaranteed deep sights that drop each week. Ketchcrash, King's fall, DoE - I never get a deepsight to just drop. It's always just the guaranteed sources only each week.
-
I hope you get a quitters suspension.
-
You don’t need every weapon. Relax
-
I saw what was happening last season. Got plenty of Austringers (3 to be exact) but no beloved. I ran it all season and got zero beloved deepsight drops. This season, almost zero progress towards the seasonal title. If Bungie says 🖕🏻 me, I say 🖕🏻 Bungie ✌🏻
-
I mess fixed odds and the trace rifle and rocket but because of crappy rng rates I still can’t get them
-
See you next week Lol but seriously you did the right thing by leaving if it was frustrating you. I don't think it's wrong that crafted weapons are hard to get because it only hurts as bad not to have them as you let it hurt. So if it hurts you bad, then cutting your losses is the right thing to do since a videogame is supposed to just be fun with no strings attached.
-
100% agree
-
Totally agree... Seasonal seal is locked behind level up guns now but taking forever to get the patterns in first places to level them up... Very frustrating... Wouldn't blame you, just play game for fun, forget shaping
