Not buying the seasons has honestly improved my Destiny experience so much; It's so nice to no longer feel obligated to play so much.
Not even saying I think seasonal content is bad, just that the seasonal cycle really poisoned my enjoyment of the game.

My advice is, buy the season, but ignore it and play how you like. Most importantly ignore the season title grind and achievements. You'll still get most of the new guns, new armor and experience the new seasonal content. Do not think "I'm not getting what I paid for" because you are getting mostly everything ... except the grind and burnout. You will reach true enlightenment if you can convince yourself to play the game in this way. Sure, if there is a must-have seasonal gun for pvp you might need to put in some grind. But that's just destiny. Ignore the season grind. Play what you want.
