The game is utter garbage at this point. Sorry to say.

It’s just trash. I’ve defended it for a long time but it’s such an appalling dumpster fire, it’s just broken beyond repair. The connections are HORRIBLE!!! Everything that’s released is bugged at a game-breaking level. Fixes take half the season, sometimes more. Exotics are disabled, everything gets nerfed, nothing new gets added, stuff is vaulted and sunsetted, weapons are re-released so we essentially do the same activities to get the weapons we already had. It’s just absolutely embarrassing and I can’t get behind this anymore. Bungie has clearly given up on Destiny. I haven’t spent money on this in a year and I’m not going to anymore. It’s sad but it’s the way they want it apparently. Edit: Since this is apparently a difficult concept to grasp for many people, let me elaborate on one thing. I like the game. I think Destiny 3 would be a way out of the current mess. I hate that they didn’t do that before Beyond Light. My point is that the game cannot function the way it is now. There is still too much content and the servers can’t handle even the low player numbers. In addition to that crossplay has made a bad situation worse, which is one of the reasons why they need dedicated servers. Anyway, the point is: There is a way.

  • I feel like dedicated servers would fix a lot of the issues that we see (and maybe even ones that we don't) but unless they fix their core vision for what this game is supposed to be, it would seem that no matter what they do, the game will suffer. An open-world(ish) game with such limited open world; a game where the friend-game is the end-game with limited slots for teammates and a clan system in need of a serious overhaul; raids shouldn't be lfg! to the current stewardship program in-place with no in-game technology outside of straight-to-LFG from the game (no in-game LFG finder, YOU GOT A PHONE/INTERNET BROWSER, DON'T YA?); join in progress putting you at an immediate disadvantage and joining allies in progress wiping out stored charges; older game mechanics whose problems were never entirely addressed (warmind cells not spawning immune to players without warmind mods given their abysmal spawn rate outside of just intentionally glitching the system with delayed kills/swaps was something that should have been day one); caps on everything!- what a terrible concept; time-gated stuff that gets completed in day one just to have us wait a week for the next phase, do you guys not even know us at all??? I've got 6k hours spread across both games and at this point I'm not sure if it's just straight up addiction, the incredible gunplay, both, neither- whatever the case, technology issues aside, design flaws inherent in the game since day one capital-Need to be addressed.
