The game is utter garbage at this point. Sorry to say.
It’s just trash. I’ve defended it for a long time but it’s such an appalling dumpster fire, it’s just broken beyond repair. The connections are HORRIBLE!!! Everything that’s released is bugged at a game-breaking level. Fixes take half the season, sometimes more. Exotics are disabled, everything gets nerfed, nothing new gets added, stuff is vaulted and sunsetted, weapons are re-released so we essentially do the same activities to get the weapons we already had. It’s just absolutely embarrassing and I can’t get behind this anymore.
Bungie has clearly given up on Destiny. I haven’t spent money on this in a year and I’m not going to anymore. It’s sad but it’s the way they want it apparently.
Edit: Since this is apparently a difficult concept to grasp for many people, let me elaborate on one thing. I like the game. I think Destiny 3 would be a way out of the current mess. I hate that they didn’t do that before Beyond Light. My point is that the game cannot function the way it is now. There is still too much content and the servers can’t handle even the low player numbers. In addition to that crossplay has made a bad situation worse, which is one of the reasons why they need dedicated servers. Anyway, the point is: There is a way.

Decided to hit the forums to see the temperature of the community and it is safe to say many feel the way I feel. I used to sip the kool-aid HARD on this game. But as time went I started to get fatigued and as this season like many before it had me bash my skull in for really no real reason I finally woke up. I started to drift apart from the game. You can look up my play history I'm hardly ever on anymore. I went and played Call of Duty a flawed yet competent PvP experience. I am playing God of War a true generational game with incredible story telling, exploration, and combat. It's after playing these titles that it really sank in to me... Wow this game just feels old, cheap, and hollow now. I felt great not logging in like it was a chore list after work. I miss my friends on Destiny and they were really the motivating factor on why I played but Hell even they all went to different games too as of now. It's not a lack of trying on my part to want Destiny to be better. I hopped in to FotL only to be asked for 10 more dollars even though none of the previous bugs were addressed. (Also side note for what it is worth when I buy the highest price point collectors edition I find the extra 10 bucks being asked of me to be a bit crappy. But that's another topic of debate.) So I just ended up not caring for anything FotL related. Then this stupid Telesto meme event. I didn't even bother to log on. I just followed on YouTube to see if anything was worth logging in over. It wasn't... Now this "community event" what an absolute joke. I can go for paragraphs on this topic also. Either they neglected their own bugs or just flat didn't care anymore so the event was done in a day. Thank god it was though because had the community spent two weeks for some railings and corn and little to no real rewards worth the grind for I think the fallout of the event would have been even worse. So here is where I am at right now as a player who has been involved with Destiny since the first Alpha test of Destiny 1.... I want MORE. A lot more. I am done hearing excuses and making excuses for a developer that has now made BILLIONS with Sony. It is clear this game is not their main focus anymore and for me I can say the same now as well. I WANT to see how the light and dark saga ends and my participation in it could be hardcore or just casual just depends on the content is offered. One thing is for sure. If this game doesn't get a major and I mean MAJOR overhaul I am out for good. I don't want to be. The gun play, the community and friends I have made. The memories and the day 1 raids and dungeons are why I love this franchise but the bad is just getting too overwhelming for the good. TLDR of it all. This game needs a massive overhaul soon or I am out for good.
