I was looking for a Legendary PsiOps LFG post and found one. The guy asked to join a party and a mic was required. He was having a hard time finding a third so we decided to duo it. We also shared the reasons for the run...
He was cursing a lot and acting toxic if not even intoxicated.
As soon as we jumped in he muted me. Couldn't hear the guy for the rest of the play. Fine, no big deal.
As the play ended and we're about to be teleported back to collect the loot I find myself removed from the party and kicked from the fireteam. Needless to say it was an empty run for me.
This happened once before after a Ketchcrash run with a LFG team.
I don't care for the fruitless run Bungie, but HOW and most interestingly WHY is this an option for a fireteam leader at the very end of a run?
I've been a long time player I'd like to keep enjoying this game.
Thank you all for your replies!!!
Yes, this is the Internet but a controlled environment after all. So, I do think it's Bungies fault that you basically end the boss and can get kicked.
I've bailed from LFGs of course, but it's hard to make the right call every time, just like in real life.
Yes, I've reported and blocked the guy.
And, yes I'm in a clan but still like to jump on LFGs.
Happy gaming y'all!!

Edited by Olórin: 12/5/2022 4:44:54 PMI mentioned this before how I've had a few encounters on this game where the leader was super racist and how i left a fireteam where the leader basically said he was going to kick me at the end before i acquired my loot. But this community wasn't understanding or agreeing with me to appeal for changing how the kick system works on a boss/final encounter to an activity... ...Instead they were arguing with me on how calling me, a PoC, a monkey is somehow not racist. One guy was desperate to silence me begging for the mods to lock the post. I feel like most people on these forums just want to be contrarians to everything and everyone. Tl:dr, logically it makes sense for the kick system to not be active during the final encounter to an activity so everyone gets the loot they deserve regardless of toxicity, so i agree with you. Also, dont expect much compassion from this community mate.

Optional matchmaking It’s time Bungie implements it for all PvE activities except raids. -
First thing I do when joining a LFG team is mute everyone. A mic is only needed for Raids in my opinion.

Edited by BILL D4 KILL3R: 12/4/2022 3:41:17 AMyeah I don't think this is bungies problem as I had a similar (kinda) situation the other day. I made a Xbox LFG post for master ketch crash and once everyone was in i asked if everyone was ready in text chat then started, we were playing through it when i noticed one guy was afk the whole time, i promptly told him to actually start playing because its not a free ride and he started acting like he was playing by moving around a bit and shooting at nothing. after a few more warnings he started playing but not very well but i thought ill let it slide and was contemplating on kicking him near the end but thought i better not as he would just go and do it to someone else so i let him complete it with us and get the rewards. IMO I should have kicked him before i gave the second out of three warnings. But if i kicked him near the end when he was basically still doing nothing it still would have been just, as he was just being a leech for more than half of the run and giving 10% effort for the other half. All in all my point is the same as some of the other reply's you got. If you want the control then take it, otherwise you leave it up to someone else who has the potential to be a massive ******* and do that to you again, and you'll only have yourself to blame. Basically I'm just saying be careful because there is a lot of those ppl out there. Also this should be obvious but anyone reading this don't do this to someone unless they completely deserve it and are being a detriment to the team.

People have been asking for this to be fixed for a long time because it happens in raids too & it’s still a problem. If it was a problem with Eververse it would be fixed same day.
-
That really sucks, and I can sympathize. If you recall their tag, you can report them.
-
You should have left after they started acting weird. This is the internet after all.

Edited by FuzzyWolf: 12/4/2022 12:37:12 AMPeople should become unkickable after final boss dps phase starts, would help a lot.

This is a perfect example of why the new lfg system needs to ome sooner than later so you can rate player experience and avoid players like the one you played with sadly we have a while till that happens
-
If you need a run. send me a message. I’ll help you out.
-
Sorry about your experience, you'll bail next time when you get the first warning sign. I really wanted to comment on legendary psi ops. It's the absolute best and most challenging 3 person activity in the game. They need to design strikes like these.

I do a lot of LFG stuff where I make sure to host so this doesn’t happen. I refuse to do this to people, they earned it just as much as I did. I will NEVER remove a fire team member before we get the loot. Now if we’re doing a raid and if we’re mid-raid the guy is being toxic, I have removed before (had one guy literally insult my friend’s daughter that he had to step away to take care of for 2 minutes).

I used to to a lot of lfg back in the days and honestly I have rarely seen this bit the times I did Peoples kick member that was a total carry or just plain annoying Or when it was randomly you could have seen it a miles away LFG as its pros and cons ....you need to filter post...its easy to spot a toxic run or a run of good player wanting a quick run Honestly I haven't touched LFG in years since I joined a community focus clan ...which I 100% suggest
-
That does sound messed up. I have joined loads of groups via LFG over the years, and in a lot of them, I rarely use my mic. I must be fortunate as this hasn't happened to me yet. I've even hosted games via LFG, but I can't recall ever removing someone from the playlist halfway through or while their picking up their loot. This is also another reason why I try and do all the seasonal stuff when their still hot, so that there's plenty of people to group up with.
-
Here's a tip.People in LFGs should be chill, normal, cool. If someone is acting like a clown from the start, just bail.
-
Report him
-
Create your own post so you control that stuff. Dude was garbage, but the red flags were there. Second kicks still need to be on the table. If someone who joined is throwing, combative, an -blam!-, can't take direction and is not a team player, or a cheater you should be able to kick them at any time. Have seen it happen and they were all deserved.
-
I read others say on these forums that if you share proof with Bungie, it is a punishable offense, if not bannable (is that even a word?). The reason fireteam leaders can and should always be able to kick is that the griefing could go the other way too, and you'd have no way to remove an unwanted player from your match. My recommendation is to always ask the other player(s) to join on you, and if they refuse, treat it like something is off.

Hopefully lesson learned. Not bungie's problem 🤣
