I'm a hunter main and I admit I used retrofit escapade with gyrfalcon's hauberk. It was fun but I expected a nerf because it was really strong with volatile. I sort of knew that the gun itself wouldn't be nerfed but volatile rounds instead. It looks like I was right.
I don't have an issue with retrofit escapade not being that great anymore (yay linear fusions....again....).
What I do have issues with is repulsor brace was a viable option for PVE because of gyrfalcon's hauberk which is now harder to proc because of volatile. With the volatile change, minors die and then get volatile upon death and rarely get killed by volatile itself.
If retrofit escapade was the reason for the change, can it not be changed back to what it was but change how much damage is needed to proc volatile from heavy machine guns?
I feel like not only did you nerf retrofit escapade but also repulsor brace, collective obligation, gyrfalcon's hauberk and pretty much every other void weapon.
I'll happily switch back to my arc build but I always preferred void. It's saddening.

I’d didn’t really see any issues with non-retrofit yesterday. Collective Obligation was never getting huge DPS bonuses from Volatile due to the limited damage it could dish out and the fact it was burst fire. Most primaries and specials (even 900 SMG and Trace rifles) weren’t able to proc the constant volatile without extreme setup since Bungie nerfed the amount of damage for a volatile detonation in Season of the Haunted. I haven’t tried it with Repulsor brace yesterday, but it was working really well with Golden Tricorn.

Edited by Crotas Crotch: 1/19/2023 6:31:25 PMHate that this “fix” effected primary’s with volatile Retro still good af but now it took a dump on using volatile normally with primary

Volatile Rounds was nerfed?
-
Yes. They messed up everything that relied on volatiles. Stylish executioner is also trash now.

For Gyrfalcon Hauberks If you want get Volatile Round. Need to add there 2 mod Reaping Wellmaker and well of Tenacity on void amour Arm void Exotic chest Void. Other like Font of Might Help restore ability and get invisible ever 2 kills. Never about useing alot of dodge. Echo of expulsion Echo of undermining Echo of obscurity Echo of starvation

I agree. Been a hunter main since D1. While it was indeed broken, they didn't have to put it in the dirt. The reason why Bungie pisses me off with stuff like this is, oh. Put hunter OP things in the dirt. Heart of Inmost light and lightning grenades tho? We can leave that that's perfectly fine. Like give me a break.

Edited by ShyGuyKai93: 1/20/2023 1:08:43 AMI've been using repulser brace all day with gyrfalcons its still fine. The cadence is what's important. There are 3 things working against "spamming" repulser 1. Too stylish on the Void aspect 2. The newly "fixed" volatile timer (1 sec?) 3. Volatile or ability explosions killing the ads before they're actually given the volatile condition If you take your time and actually look for when targets are volatile you'll see repulser still works. Cuz if they aren't you won't get the over shield..... now that dodge nerf on the other hand 😭😭😭
-
It’s not a nerf. They put them back to normal after the bug showed how broken they could be this season. They were never really powerful Judy a nice little void boom.

volatile rounds fix*
-
It was a bug everyone knew it was a bug. We all knew it was gonna get patched. Retrofit is still a really good machine gun I used it in gms today and it’s still good
-
If the target died to the volatile explosion then you don't get repulsor brace. They have to be primed with volatile and die without exploding for you to actually get repulsor brace. It's not really that great if a perk only like a 40hp shield with inconsistent activations. That's less than 1/4 of your normal health at 100 resil

Repulser brace felt fine imo. Ran through insight terminus gm invis w over shield 80% of the time.
-
Edited by Dopamine: 1/19/2023 8:32:21 AMrepulsor brace doesnt proc off volatile kills, the condition is only that a target is afflicted by a void debuff which to my knowledge is applied immediately on hit when you have volatile rounds, the only thing that isn't immediate is the ignition damage so im not really following how it was a nerf to that or collective obligation
-
I still put in numbers though. I mean I do miss the constant effect, but as long as it's still good I'll adapt to it

Didn’t see this change and thought I was going crazy, that sucks
