When I told him how my gran normally gives me cash at Christmas but this year she gave me a cheque instead, he didn’t believe me. He didn’t believe that people used cheques these days and had never seen one in real life; I had to get it out to show him and he went on about how easy they must be to forge.
I was like bruh yeah ok imma break into my nan’s house, steal her chequebook and forge her signature…

I always think it’s funny when someone comes through with a check at work, becauase none of the newer folk ever know how to put it through the register. They always have to call either me or a manager for help. But, like, all you need to do is push the “check” button on the keyboard, then follow the instructions on screen. It’s not that hard! . . . Then again, we’re talking about the same folk who will just start telling customers she’s out of change rather than asking the manager for more.

They're still pretty common... I guess not for some.

My friend who worked in a bank said they never checked cheques under £50. Helpful tip for anyone wanting to rinse out their nan’s account. 😄
