I get that there are good players in Destiny... I even understand that some are more competitive than others; however, sending messages that are not nice, such as you are a waste of space when I played Trials or melee me before a round, simply is not cool. I understand the frustration... am I great at Crucible, depends on if they actually match the teams correctly... I do play a lot of Gambit, so I get the frustration when players are less than par... I think for the first time ever, I lost 10 Gambit matches in a row... I did not once send anyone on the team a message telling them they are a waste of space, nor did I shoot at them or melee them...that is just wrong and rude... Bungie promotes mental health and being there for guardians... have you thought about YOUR impact on someone who may be new or not as good as you when you act that way?! I am just saying... I know Bungie can't stop the jerks or the trolls... perhaps this is why I choose to do everything alone... On that, I am out... Kind of sorry I already paid for Lightfall... Best of Luck Guardians...

  • I feel this... Deeply. I'm NOT good at PVP. Really, truly, I realize it. I get it. So when Bungie dangles Trials in moments of triumph or season challenges, there's always a few moments where I grab my fireteam and we load up and go. And I understand the way matchmaking works in Trials, you're going to hit roadblocks, no matter what. That's the purpose of the game--sweaty skill, but also RNG to see where your skill gets tested. But when no one on my fireteam has ever gone flawless, and the other team is kitted out with Trials gear, the flawless title gilded over... Why do you bag? Why do you emote? What's the point of being so toxic? We get it--you're better than us. And before any of the "get good" comments roll in, consider how Bungie has built the pvp game modes in general. Between SBMM, where I rarely even get a lobby stable enough to finish a game, and things like Iron Banner and Trials where I regularly get steamrolled, how am I actually supposed to improve in the pvp end of things? For all of Bungie's talk about making aspirational content more accessible, they really don't do a lot to actually track player progression for any sort of funnel into that content. So why do the pvp-ers have to be quite so toxic about winning? Half the reason you won is Bungie's matchmaking put us together in an absolutely unfair matchup--Bungie's already teabagging me, you don't have to. No one needs to bag... or emote... Save that for a fair matchup that's sweaty, or when you shutdown a cheater, not the fireteam of pve veterans who have never gone flawless and are running into a 4-0 with less than 0.5 efficieny. Just be human. And the irony of the Code of Conduct reminder at the bottom of the post draft. Interesting when and where they decide to care about "playing nice"... The dbags are always going to be dbags, but Bungie can do more to keep the toxicity from socially engineering their content so hard. Granted, it also requires them putting more work into keeping their game instances live, their API active, and generally keeping things from breaking. I'm interested to see how long it takes before the new social options in Lightfall get exploited or break or generally just become meaningless because the toxic people rally to defend each other... Like many of them are already doing in this thread. You could just... not reply and let people vent and move on. Everyone will have a better day for it.
