The only people who say this isnt a problem and that golf balls are easy to get are those who literally do nothing else but play D2....this shouldve been how materials work from the start.

"i barely play this game but i want anything and everything from a looter shooter"

Golf balls are extremely easy to get. The casual player can easily get to GM power level and theres always 1 really easy GM per season you can farm and if you're lucky it will be double loot like insight terminus last week.

I used to agree, then I found out master nightfalls nearly always drop one. 20 min runs on nice weeks, fill your acc & postmaster over the week. It's 2 runs a day if you've no time.

I was going to disagree but then I realized you are right...

Not really. The problem is that people don't play things that drop golf balls like popcorn and then cry here that others play too much. I maxed out my golf from 8 to 40 including 3 characters in two nights. What did I do? Played GM during the double drop week. I was literally getting 3 golf balls a run. That's like 10 GM runs of one of the easiest strikes. And quite a few players do more GMs than that. You have hidden you game history, but I am almost certain that you don't run GMs or run one GM a week for the seal. If you are short on golf balls, target farm GM on double reward week. It's as simple as that. I absolutely don't mind other easier sources of golf balls, but to point fingers at others because they are efficient and know what to farm when is just trashy.

There just needs to be more sources for Ascendant Shards and Ascendant Alloys, because at the moment you either have too much where you hardly use the resources or you have too little and struggle to obtain them. Best change imo rn would be to just have every reset at a vendor grant an exotic AND an ascendant shard. Nightmare Containment having a chance to drop alloys is nice but its just not enough and its the only seasonal activity that doesn't require a premade team to get the material unlike all the other seasonal activities requiring that. For Shards you either run Master or GM strikes or you stuck farming legendary shards till your eyes bleed for like 1 or 2 of them.

YUP. Too many no lifers gatekeeping

how can people gatekeep materials?

Edited by 境井 仁 Rinzler: 1/30/2023 11:19:26 PMMeanwhile 10 shards equal 1 prism, and 10 prisms equal 1 golf ball. Thats 100 shards for a single golf ball, that is f-king expensive. Especially when regular legendary gear requires a golf ball to fully master work, while an exotic requires 3, or 30 prisms.....or 300 mother -blam!- shards! (not even counting shard and prisms needed to get to that final amount) Someone already in the comments said jUsT rUn gM's. No. -_- Gm's are harder than raids...and only those who already have max gear, stupidly specific weapon load outs, and mods can start gm's, let alone complete them. Just let us infuse masterworked gear to master work other pieces of gear. IDEGAF if its just legendary gear that this applies to. Because even just that would save a crap ton of time and resources, rather than waste all our time, resources and effort when we get gear that better than what we have. Seasons change, meta changes, exotics get nerfed, etc....thats a -blam!- load of wasted time and materials.

Watch a vid of the current GM and do it few times. They are way easier than they used to be.

GM's are not hard anymore, they used to be when they released but now its not really a challenge anymore and you can easy farm 10+ shards in a couple of hours. It would still be nice to dismantle them to get prisms, etc.

Agreed, 2 years ago GM's were a hard challenge. They are a cake walk with the Resilience changes and mods for overshields, damage buffs and ability regen. My twelve year old son runs GM's with me and my friends. Watch some YouTube videos and copy their builds, that's why they post them
