It’s not just a Destiny issue. I think critical thinking and being able to seeing things from an objective perspective are rare qualities these days. I believe the internet is partly to blame because of lack of accountability in a mostly anonymous setting, and the sheer amount and variety of information available that allows people to read/watch another’s opinion that aligns with their beliefs or “agenda” and then stop looking for information. And then take what they have learned as fact. Probably should just delete the internet. (This is all of course, my opinion) Edit: To add to this, I belong to a Facebook group in which the Admin asked for our feedback and input so he could share it with devs. I wrote a 5 or 6 paragraph post citing some changes I thought would be beneficial. He then proceeded to tell me I was flat out wrong and asked me to list examples to prove my opinion. I was polite and didn’t argue my point, but it just seemed strange he told me I was wrong about my suggestions.

  • Wow. It is a sad world we live in huh. The internet is such a detriment to the world. It has allowed people to judge more from the comfort of their home without consequences or fault. All we can do is not let it kill our vibes.

  • Indeed. I’m not sure if the internet is turning us into something worse, or these qualities are already present in us and it’s just showcasing them. Possibly a little of both. I know that in most cases it seems to be a more vocal minority that are the “toxic” ones. Most of my interactions with random people on Destiny have been positive and they are all after the same thing as me; an escape and some sort of fulfillment though a video game that they largely enjoy. I am generally, and by my own estimation, a kind, generous, and selfless person, with manners. And it has taken me a large portion of my life to reconcile with the fact that everyone’s brain just doesn’t work the same as mine. Oh well. We’ll be fine, I’m sure!

  • Preach my fellow guardian. We share similar qualities that seems to be a curse to others who do not share the same values. I tell people all the time, it is easy to be the bad person than it is to be a good person because a good person have values or morals that a bad person doesnt care about it.
