This is why I think quests are a better way to earn raid exotics, like they were in D1.

Wtf are you talking about, I just got tom last night and the excitement of getting a raid exotic out of no where is incomparable. Quests in D1 were nothing like D2's, not to mention D1 raid exotic quests were SECRET. Unlike D2 which is just given to players, go away if you're seriously that damn entitled.

Get ready to bang for the next raid then. ToM wasn't a secret quest in D1, Eris gives it to you when you find your first Calcified fragment which are out in the open on the dreadnought.

The fragments themselves were hidden, so yes it was a secret exotic quest. Same with black spindle, and same for outbreak. Sorry you feel so entitled you want raid exotics of all things to be handed over to you. Either go run some raid until you get what you want, or take your complaints elsewhere. The rest of us actually enjoy that overwhelming happiness of finally having a raid exotic drop. Easy quests like divinity completely take that away, and advocating for raid exotics to be easy to get via quests....is simply advocating to take away that experience of overwhelming joy, shock, and happiness away from others.

It's funny because everybody just complains about having to do a bunch of runs, so much so they actually had to change the drop rates because of it. People against the quests always have the same arguments that "it's just handed to you". Like you don't actually have to do the raid or anything, right? Besides, I think what everyone else is feeling is relief, relief they don't have to keep feeling the frustration of doing the raid 60+ times and not getting what they want. But you do you, because as far as I can tell you seem to be the only one on this forum happy with RNG grind.

Simply doing the raid is not enough to truly earn a raid exotic, and you're completely ignoring everything I said about THE EXPERIENCE of having a raid exotic drop for you out of the blue when you dont expect it. Its not about getting the weapon, its about the experience that comes with it. Thats why they have value, its the fact that its something not everyone is able to get. On top of the fact it comes with an incredible sense of happiness and accomplishment, and experience a quest cant give the player. If anything its those like yourself who rather have a quest to get what is supposed to be the rarest loot in the game who have the worst and overall weakest argument. "I did the raid so gimmie" You're only after the weapon and nothing more, and care not for the experience that comes with it.

You're telling me you did that raid 20+ times and never expected the exotic to drop? You never had a single hope that this time will be the time it finally drops? You played the raid solely for the raid and not for the exotic? I sincerely apologize (no sarcasm), I did not realize you were actually playing the game without focusing on the grind. I try to play like that and doing the quests to break up the monotony of running the same stuff over and over again really helps. I really enjoyed the quests for ToM and Outbreak instead of the RNG of Vex.

I ran it for the experience of finally getting it, not necessarily just attaining the weapon. The excitement of getting a raid exotic is the whole point.

Then all you care about is collecting it simply for the sake of collecting it, and not for the experience of having it finally drop. I screamed like a kid on christmas out a shock, so if you're not going into the raid to hopefully have that experience....you damn sure dont deserve to have it simply handed to you. Entitlement at its finest.

Because im an adult who plays multiple different games...i dont care if I get raid exotics or not. Getting them is awesome yes, feels great. But at the end of the day if it isnt that, theres nothing else to jump into raids for. Try using the 2 brain cells you have, I actually have to WANT to go in and raid for starters. But if there isnt anything I feel is worth my time trying to get....why would I raid?
