I think I stand for all small clans when I suggest that clans need an exp scalar for clan player count. I have a small clan of active loyal players. Players I've been friends with since high school, since D1. So, joining a large clan for just for perks isn't really something any of us want to do. Having an exp scalar for lower clan count members would allow small clans to get higher tier clan perk while maintaining their own identity.

They should just allow you to continue to add XP with no cap. Then there is a trade off. Do I want to expand and make life easier, or do I want to stay small but have to work harder.

There shouldn't be any scalar or bonus xp for small clans. Bungie should just remove the cap on XP that you can earn for the clan, and this problem would be solved. Right now, each character can only earn 5k clan xp a week, so a clan of 3 people would take all season to level the clan to max. If instead you could earn an unlimited amount... The potential is there to make it much easier. Clan xp is very easy to earn and you can max a character in 20 minutes or so of focused play. Being able to earn more throughout the week would fix this problem.

Agree. The “recruit more people” crowd don’t respect why some clans just work better with fewer. It also is anti-fun to force folks to always clan up exactly the same way.
-
If the clan perks were actually worth it...then sure. But they just aren't, so it doesn't bother me.
-
What's the point of a small clan when there's group chats and discord?!
-
This is the same thing as punishing larger clans? Nothing is preventing you guys from recruiting and expanding towards the 100 person cap, if you choose not to, instead to be a closed off, secluded and private clan, I think the penalty of needing to grind out extra xp is fair. In the current scenario, you’re being punished for using the system selfishly, for your small group. And real clans are rewarded for engaging with the larger community. I would prefer it remained as is.

Clans need a overhaul as it is.

Recruit more people 🤷♂️

Not a bad idea. Let's people keep a clan of friends while still getting to reap the benefits of what the clan system gives. Large clans can be a bit.. eh.. hectic, so not everybody enjoys them, but rn it kinda nudges you to them.
-
Agreed. Allowing for a scalar so that less populated clans are able to hit max rank while demanding a similar percentage of engagement as large clans would be a welcome change. Doesn't harm anyone.
-
Kinda defeats the purpose tbh. Plus the bonuses aren't anything to be excited about.
-
That defeats the whole thinking behind the clan bonus threshold and clans for that matter.

I think you already get enough benefits, playing with friends and screwing up matchmaking algorithms...

Bump, great idea here!

Edited by BOSSNONO254: 2/1/2023 11:02:41 AMAs good of an idea this may seem. Bungie would probably fix everything wrong with pvp before they do something like this. Which in terms means never sadly.
