Hi, Can you provide a DxDiag report from your system? Details on how to below. In the meanwhile, are you running the latest drivers from Nvidia? Have you tried doing a driver clean install like explained in this article? Do you have the software MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X1? Sometimes after a driver update, they end up locking the power limit to 50% if you have a profile enabled.
Please follow the steps outlined below to provide an accurate system report. Please do not follow these steps while Destiny 2 is running. 1. Restart your machine. 2. When you log in, please click on the Windows icon, then type dxdiag. If typed correctly, only one command should appear. Please click it. (If you need to enter the credentials of an administrator of the PC, please do so). 3. Allow the tool to run. A green bar should progress on the bottom portion of the window. If you receive any dialogue boxes as it progresses, please address them accordingly. 4. Once the tool is completed, please click on the "Save All Information" button. Save the resulting text file in an easy to find location, such as your Desktop. Then, close the tool. 5. Open the text file you just created and copy all of text to your clipboard by selecting all of it (Ctrl+A) and copying it (Ctrl +C OR rightclick and click Copy). Then, close the file. 6. Go to pastebin.com 7. In the text box below, paste all of the text in the box. 8. If you would like to make your system specs hidden, you can change the Paste Exposure to Unlisted. This will hide it from the Public section of the site but still allow people to view your Paste. Then, click the Create New Paste button. 9. Copy the resulting URL and reply back to this comment with the URL.
Hello! After running DxDiag, I can confirm that nothing is wrong with any visual or audial programs. I am running the latest Nvidia drivers and I did at some point run a driver clean but it's been a long while. I don't have MSI Afterburner or EVGA. I did actually come up with a minor solution as well as a possible fix. I enabled V sync and limited my frames to only 120, which did smoothen the frames a significant bit but I'm still getting major fps drops in some locations. What concerns me is that I never had to do this before. My only two possible ideas include: 1. An NVIDIA driver is causing an issue in which I'd need to do something about that or just wait for the Lightfall driver updates to come out with a potential fix OR 2. I need to dust out my computer heavily. It's been a while since I've dusted it out and there are some layers near some ventilation, so this could be reducing performance and the computer isn't putting in as much effort to running the game as it normally would (I do know D2 is very cpu intensive so this might do something I hope). This might also explain why it ran better after lowering the frame cap even though it ran perfectly fine before with a 240 monitor.
