Lol it’s not SBMM this time. They don’t use two forms of matchmaking. It’s the FBMM that they plan to use for everything at one point.

You all always said SBMM doesn’t make the games laggier but now that you’re seeing it you’re gunna claim it’s something else entirely. We’ve been down this road before And we see the same crap state pvp turns into every time they enable it. Then add the desync of Crossplay and you get what we have now. Deny it all you want. It doesn’t change the reality

I’ve only played 7 matches of IB. First match was a lag fest but the utter 6 felt no different than any IB I’ve played all year. I think I’ve won 5 out of 7 and wait times and lag feels similar. Small sample so far but not awful. I’m not sure what FBMM is at this point. I’ve been told it’s SBMM and others say it’s different.

Upcoming changes are tuning the fireteam preferred factor (more/less strict) and upgrading the current sbmm algorithm to dynamic sbmm (causing our “skill” rating to adjust game per game opposed to staying static based on career stats).

I’ve only played 3 matches so far. First match was laggy as can be but the next two matches were usual lag but stable. Won the first match , lost the second with quitters on my team and we had a mercy to win the 3rd. So I have to play more to have a fair opinion. Today was way worse than tonight.

I have to ask. Have you been playing the game with cross play turned off prior to the change this whole time? And, can't you still toggle cross play matchmaking off/on? I'm not entirely sure those inner workings of matchmaking that Bungie employs.
