Think of it this way, what if I’m just popping off this weekend? It’s happened before and I’ve been massaged “nice recov” before. It happens.

If you're not actually a recov, do you genuinely fear a ban by Bungie? They have way more data on their end that we don't have and would verify it to ensure you're not a recov.

Not really but it’s the fact that an easy report system will lean to more false reports. Leading to more work for enforcement. Just not worth IMO

That argument makes no sense when Bungie chose to make it against their rules. If it wasn't worth their time to investigate and enforce it, then they shouldn't've banned recovs. Therefore, it ought to be an option that we have to help them in banning recovs.

i dont think bungie really cares about it. They just made a general threat to all the ppl doing recov's etc. The fear of getting banned is for most ppl enough to not do it but i think they dont really enforce it.

All I’m trying to say is OP’s idea isn’t a good fix for a niche scenario. Yea filters in place will notice who’s a recov and not. Thing is multiple false reports will slip through the cracks and be reviewed by staff personally. Less false claims will always be a positive I’m my books. The same goes for zim users, enforcement now a days is able to detect outside influence pretty quickly. Theirs no need to report someone out of frustration because you died too many times. Unless you genuinely feel like he’s on the sauce; ie obvious cheaters/or zim users.

They can track the IP addresses for investigation not just performance. Too many accounts start using the same addresses when they all are from different cities, states, or even countries, and they know who to start handing out bans to. Personally idc about recovs though.

Yea I had buddies that joined paid recov’s for quick money during collage back a few years ago. Still blows my mind sites like that exist today with the risk of having your account thanos snapped. You’re right, IP localization and where your account holds the most activity is for sure one of the first things they’d look at when determining a ban. Still doesn’t make me feel any better if enforcement has to take a peak at my account over false accusations. I have nothing to hide, I just don’t enjoy little Timmy getting mad and calling “cheating” when he losses.

Enforcement already is looking at peoples accounts over false Allegations. I get hatemail from people calling me a cheater. People all over these forums claim better players are cheating all the time. The amount of times I have seen a 0.8 complain about cheating here is astounding. Adding a button for expected recov doesn’t really matter it would just let them know the a person thinks it’s a different form of cheating.
