Even if there was, I'd rather pay the small difference in price to not give a game dev my money before I can see what's on offer. Especially not as untrustworthy as live service game devs are.

If you think about it, we don't even get to do that. Bungie doesn't even release roadmaps anymore. The launch content isn't usually all of it, and we mostly have no idea what's coming with it. Seems like the best thing to do is stay a year behind. Oh but then the FOMO stuff... -blam!-, can't win!
