I know we're only now getting to see Strand, and what it will do, and have yet to even get hands on. But, I had an idea for the third Darkness subclass. Just as Solar light could, potentially, be seen as the purest form of Light, so, too could Dark Energy be seen as the purest form of Darkness. It is invisible. It incites entropy. Given enough time, it will rip a Universe apart. Therefore, I present to you my idea for: Repulsion. This is similar to an early idea for Strand that Bungie themselves had, as they said they had basically come up with the idea for "Dark Telekinesis." Strand, however, evolved into something that, in my opinion, isn't quite what I'd call "telekinesis". That said, I'm still excited for it. So much so that I can't help but come up with some ideas of my own, beyond the idea for Tyrants to have a Flail instead of Claws.
Repulsion would feature heavily Physics-based gameplay and abilities, using their abilities to break apart pieces of rubble that can then be sent hurtling towards enemies, or even sending your foes hurtling into one another, turning their coordination into chaos. This would, of course, require that Combatants be susceptible to Physics damage to some degree.
Warlocks: Architects (Yes, I did. No, I'm not sorry.) would use these gifts to become masters of manipulation, punishing foes for grouping too tightly while also gathering incoming fire and sending it right back at them. The idea here is essentially to use your opponents' strength and prowess against them, "Repulsing" their attacks back at them, or sending them crashing into each other. Shatter their wills, then shatter their bones, Guardian.
Hunters: Alchemist (Inspiration taken from Fullmetal Alchemist) would use these gifts and a keen understanding of physics that is required for many of their skills to shape the terrain into weapons of cunning and skill, slicing and maiming foes with shards of stone and steel expertly torn from the world around them. The world is your weapon, Guardian.
Titans: Demolisher would use Repulsion as an extension to their already brutal strength, sending out shockwaves that shatter an enemy's footing and bones and sending boulders ripped from the ground itself hurtling at any who are foolish enough to stand against them. Break them like glass, Guardian.
This could also be a great opportunity to give Guardians a Physical Damage subclass! And it would be the only one of it's kind, even. I won't lie; I don't have much of a mind for numbers or tuning, but I wanted to share these ideas.
In Crucible, the knockbacks would be toned down to prevent instant team wipes via physics abuse. It would basically be a Crowd Control/Displacement setup to throw off the enemy team's coordination and formation.

Working the physics engine into a subclass surely wouldn’t be the worst thing on the planet and definitely wouldn’t catch the game on fire.
