What I mean with the title is that narratively speaking I don't understand what's the point in Amanda's death. It feels almost like Rohan's death: telegraphed, pointless and definetely not as impactful as it should be. The only reason for her death seems to be to remove a unused Vendor [i](which doesn't make any sense?)[/i] and cut possible characters out of the main story [i](which still doesn't make sense, imho, since Amanda's always been a secondary background character)[/i].
Why kill her? And most importanly, why in such bad way? I don't understand. After Lightfall Campaign, at least for me, this is another slip by Bungie's narrative team.
Also, about the [i]"she may return as a Guardian"[/i] argument, I honestly don't care. Make her return if you want, let her death if it is the case. That's not my point. My point is that -again, IMHO- she deserved better that be used as a "sacrifice" for a sort of [i]"let's try to bring more drama and tension in the narration by killing a beloved character"[/i].
