SPOILER death is kinda pointless, if you ask me

If you haven't played the weekly story yet (or haven't seen any videos about like I did), leave this thread now 'cos I'm going to spoil you things you may not want to be spoiled. -- TACTICAL ANTI-PREVIEW SPACE -- What I mean with the title is that narratively speaking I don't understand what's the point in Amanda's death. It feels almost like Rohan's death: telegraphed, pointless and definetely not as impactful as it should be. The only reason for her death seems to be to remove a unused Vendor (which doesn't make any sense?) and cut possible characters out of the main story (which still doesn't make sense, imho, since Amanda's always been a secondary background character). Why kill her? And most importanly, why in such bad way? I don't understand. After Lightfall Campaign, at least for me, this is another slip by Bungie's narrative team. Also, about the "she may return as a Guardian" argument, I honestly don't care. Make her return if you want, let her death if it is the case. That's not my point. My point is that -again, IMHO- she deserved better that be used as a "sacrifice" for a sort of "let's try to bring more drama and tension in the narration by killing a beloved character". =/
