Something my friend said the other day,
"I used to play Destiny to just chill and unwind but I feel like my guns are shooting nerf darts and enemies have 5x more health for no reason. I mean, I'm using my HEAVY LMG to deal with basic red bar ads ON PATROL because my primary doesn't do jack all. Hell, I can't even use Strand or Void to do anything because it keeps crashing my game, so there's that too."
For reference, he's tried to solo the exotic mission for the triumph at leaat a dozen or so times and the game always crashes on the first boss.

I guess the context is fairly botched, but that's what he said. Full context was we had finished the legendary campaign and had done some patrols and he was getting absolutely -blam!- canned by everything, feeling like his guns weren't doing anything so he defaulted to using Osteo Striga. I told him to get the "Bricks from Beyond" mod from the artifact and use the LMG from DSC and he found it a lot easier to deal with patrol missions, public events and the like. Later on he tried to solo the exotic mission and the game kept crashing on the first boss where you had to grab the motes. Needless to say he was quite at his wits end by this point. Finally we played the new raid and he was amazed how fast enemies were dying in comparison to the other stuff we had played and that's when he said what I posted above. He doesn't play much "high end stuff" so Destiny to him has always been a mindless power fantasy. I can imagine how aggravating it would be to have that mind set, get dropped on Neomuna and wounder why everything is destroying you so fast while you can't seem to do much at all playing the way you were used to playing.

Oh it’s all good. Since I’m on mobile, I can’t see whether or not I accidentally responded to the wrong person. Addressing the post you wrote to me though, I cannot blame him. I’d be at wits end too, if things got that bad. Just a lot of odd choices made by Bungie for this DLC, from what I’ve been reading.

40%? Jeez they over-swang if they have to do that much. Real question is, why grind your feet in on the difficulty spike? Revert it, and it solves your issues…..oh wait, I forgot who it is we are talking about here…😂

Gonna be very interesting seeing player numbers next season. All the loot is more reskins, there's no power increase, I'd bet lots just won't play.

It’s hard to say. Seasons generally have low retention rates already, so it’ll definitely be interesting to see if it’s lower than the norm. Dunno how much the reskins are pulling weight though. You would think players would push back on it more, but it’s basically been all bark typically. Maybe this time, it’ll be more? 🤷♂️ I guess why I’m so unsure, is because this DLC is so divisive. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see at this point

If you’re primary isn’t doing anything you’re either severely under leveled. Missing every bullet… or both… Skill issue… get better

That's not a "skill issue" that's a fundamental issue with the game. Bungie even acknowledged this and that's why we are getting weapon buffs in PvE come the mid season update. The skilful thing to do would be to main an LMG. Kills everything for ya from mods to majors & bosses. 😎

Buffs? What they should do is revert the difficulty bs they did first. But as usual they are stomping their feet on that hill again.

They aren’t though… The issue doesn’t exist… They acknowledged weaker archetypes… plenty of primaries work just fine… Skillful thing to do would be to land shots…

I forgot, people use busted SMGs because they're "skillful" weapons, right? No, they use them because they're flat out better than all other primaries in most cases, especially in PvE. Which is why Bungie is adjusting them and buffing the others.

Smgs are fine scouts are fine and hcs the only thing not fine in pve are pulses. If you can't kill a red bar with a primary atm that is flat out a skill issue.

Didn't say you couldn't. You can use anything. Been having a lot of fun with Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo myself even though I know I'd be sweeping house a hundred times faster with a Joltshot Ikelos or a Frenzy Funnelweb. The raid auto with Rewind Rounds is pretty stellar as well. (Also WishEnder is just straight Godly in everything right now. Thing absolutely destroys even enemies with shields get blasted away on Master difficulty.) SMGs are clearly dominate right now and are above the most used primary weapon in PvE right now. If all guns we're fine, they wouldn't be adjusting and buffing guns in PvE this soon otherwise. Their track record shows they don't like when 1 type of weapon outshines everything else. I do agree that pusles feel like bleh right now expect some of the exotics. Outbreak feels fairly good.
