I only half agree with you, and here's why: The difficulty increases were requested by, and are liked by, top end players. The kind of players who love to play GMs and master raids. The game was far too easy and honestly for many players it still is, just slightly less so. These changes needed to happen. However, the place where Bungie missed the mark on difficulty is in the base content. Normal campaign, patrol zones, normal strikes, basically anything that doesn't have a "legendary" or higher modifier next to the name..... Should not have been touched. That's where your new lights and less able guardians play, and they absolutely did not ask for and clearly did not appreciate the difficulty increase. Not to mention, the players that DO like it hard are unlikely to spend any significant amount of time in these activities. Now that these points are said, it's time to tackle the big disconnect that indeed many people having, and while im sure it's likely to ruffle some feathers, it is the bitter truth: If you are struggling so bad in legend or higher content that the game is unfun, that content was NOT designed for you. If you want to play on that difficulty setting then the onus should be on you to improve and not the game to be nerfed. Let's also keep in mind, that harder content is all the same as normal content, just harder. You can experience the same content at normal difficulty. Going higher SHOULD get harder, and have better rewards as incentive. Destiny does this, as does many very popular games on the market, and that's ok. Tldr: revert normal content, keep legend+ as is.

I somewhat agree, however, the difficulty spike has made D2 a little more enjoyable for me(besides neomuna), because normal content was too easy, and legend content was too challenging, the difficulty spike should be kept, but maybe moved into a different mode, and revert normal content back to what is was.

  • That's where adept removal was a dumb idea...adept strikes or nightfall would have continued to be be useful. Bungie does seem dumb things sometimes and hopefully they'll realize a certain base wants the power fantasy and easy mode option.
