Yeah, I went on a little tour a few days ago.
Why aren't these areas re-purposed? They're great boss arenas, it's all there ready to go. Just add some enemies and a mini boss and boom, easy content.
BTW, anyone know what the glowing writing on the wall in volundr forge means? Can't remember seeing that before.

you could say this of most areas in the game to be fair. A lot of them are used once in a campaign or for a strike and we never visit them again, and we can't even get to them without oobs and/or glitches. Large areas like the Festering Halls below Titan, the Peregrine District in the Last City, the Dark Forest and Quarantine Sector 236, Maevic Square and Hangman's Pass, ect, ect, all are or were secluded and never used more than once, with the exception of Adventures in Maevic Square, and Subclass Quests in small parts of the Dark Forest

It was part of the Niobe Labs mission. You could only see and interact certain symbols with specific forge weapons. Originally the Niobe Labs mission was meant to be cleared by players to unlock the Bergusia Forge, but there wasn't enough info available for players to piece together, so Bungie just unlocked the Forge. Something like 0.6% of the player base actually did Niobe Labs after Bungie clarified what needed to be done
-
Yep..did that and all I got was an emblem which is the one I use all the time.
-
Should've got a ghost too I thought
-
I don't have it..I just got the obsidian dreams emblem..don't know why..maybe there was more I was required to do to get the Ghost.
-
Obsidian Dreams was tied to completing the Forge story missions. The Armory Forged Shell was your reward for clearing Niobe's Torment, which was the triumph for clearing Niobe Labs

It's been awhile, the Mysterious Box quest is the one I did to get it..had to wear all the armor and use the forge weapons to hit the symbols if I remember correctly. This was the emblem https://gamerant.com/destiny-2-how-to-complete-the-mysterious-datapad-quest-get-the-obsidian-dreams-emblem/ This is the shell which i never knew about but should have. https://www.newsweek.com/destiny-2-niobe-labs-guide-how-solve-torment-puzzle-level-7-1289271 Both are similar I think..wish I had of known back then..!!
-
I think I may have got it but not sure to be honest..must check to see if I have it if I can remember it's name..or google it!!!
-
I couldn't finish the labs before it was taken down. So sad.
-
Me either tbh. I couldn't find too many people who wanted to give it a shot. Bungie really went all out on that mission though. Having weapon sights be a looking glass for clues was cool, but I might've made the sights bigger so the symbols were easier to spot

That's the stuff that made the game exciting. Now it's trash and glad I bailed.

Iirc it had something to do with a secret Mission back in the day.
