I am also experiencing the same issue. I have tried doing a fresh install on the Epic Games Launcher and on Steam with the same result. The following message arises every time I launch the game:
"Destiny 2 servers are not available. Dismiss this message to try again.
For more information, visit.bungie.net"
and if I dismiss the message, it attempts to sign-in again and then shows the same message.

I’ve had the same issue where the class spinner will go for like a minute or two and then give me the prompt that D2 is down and to visit bungie.net. When I hit escape it just goes back to the spinner for another minute and the prompt appearing
