I'll be somewhat surprised if Bungie doesn't roll the difficulty back a bit given the amount of frustration players have voiced.

But Vanguard Playlists "set power level advantage" feels perfect. I really hope they don't change that. I hated feeling like Vanguard Playlists was nothing but a farm for number going up on catalysts. Now I actually feel like booting up Vanguard and just enjoying strikes because they actually require more than 2% of my brain power lol

If Bungie would just add matchmaking for Legend and Master content like we've been asking for years and years, you could have already had that experience. Now New Lights and Casual players just get crushed because you didn't want to take 5 seconds and LFG for higher level content? No. Everything just needs to be reverted to how it was, but they add matchmaking for harder difficulties. That's all they ever had to do!

It wouldn't work; that's why Bungie hasn't implemented MM for high-end content. As for your comment on LFG, I'm not sure I follow. Whose fault is it that new lights and casuals get crushed because of LFG?

Did you intend for that to be a compelling argument? It wouldn't work, because players that aren't equipped to do high-end content would get frustrated and quit, or players that would be forced into carrying them would quit. Plus, in some activities such as raids, mics are a necessity for team co-ordination, which not everyone has. Do you have a VALID reason why MM should be added, or do you just want to argue for the sake of it?

I just explained why it wouldn't be practical. When I first started, I didn't understand why MM wasn't in end-game activities, either. Until I played some of them. If you're going to be contrarian just because you don't get your way, that's your prerogative. As for being a shill, I pay Bungie for game content just the same as every other player, and there's still plenty I haven't done. I don't come to the forum to b**ch about it, I get proactive and use the tools and features presented to me so that I can enjoy more of what the game offers.

Legend and Master Nightfalls are challenging content. They're supposed to be! Nightfalls are not supposed to be cannon fodder. They are supposed to be the challenging variants of Strikes(vanguard playlist). Hero Nightfall is there as a means for new players to try them out and gradually increase their knowledge until they're ready for Legend. You asking for matchmaking for hard content tells me you must be new to this game. Because I can tell you for a guaranteed fact that matchmaking for Legend Nightfalls would not end well. You have to ensure before the activity starts that people have the correct champion mods on, the correct weapon surge, etc etc. Because it is supposed to be a pinnacle activity.

I can see a little of your confusion. Vanguard Playlist I mentioned enjoying the increased difficulty even if subtle. That's Vanguard Playlist. Not to be confused with Nightfalls. They are 2 separate things. You're honestly confusing me quite a bit here. Because you spoke about having lots of exotics like you've played the game for a long time, but you don't know seem to know basic things. Hell, I'm a veteran and even i'm not hardcore enough to care about exotic armor stat rolls, but somehow you are, whilst not knowing the difference between the vanguard playlist and nightfalls.

If you mean strikes (but not Nightfalls), I'll agree with you there. The problem is, it takes me 3 Nightfalls to get to that 2K pinnacle, so I rarely play the regular strikes anymore. Every so often I just go in for funsies but it seems like a waste of time for the most part, considering everything else takes me too long. I recognize it's my choice to double up the Nightfall and Vanguard Ops pinnacles. But, it does also beg the question about next season that I can't stop wondering about. What will be our motivation to do anything when they remove Light Levels? (That's just a general question, not expecting you to answer that one.) :D

If you actually read what I typed you'd see Hero Nightfall was not supposed to be the extremely difficult variant. Hence the fact it's matchmake-able. I'm not surprised when you're typing out the word "heroic" instead of "hero" to be fair

In vanguard playlists below adept, even asking for 1% of my brain power is asking a lot. I do not want to research to play baseline content. If you folks like the research and the practice, I want you to have a place for that. That place does not need to be the same place that I would like. I am happy to fight for you to have your preferred difficulty option, but I want mine, too, and there are a lot of others who agree.

If I'm being honest, I've liked the increased challenge in the playlists as well. Granted, I haven't played the Vanguard strikes (I just go to the Nightfalls to get pinnacles faster), but overall they seem to be in a solid place. I can MANAGE the patrol zone on Neomuna, but a few things are a bit ridiculous. Looking at YOU, Malignant Hydra! Even so, however, newer players just joining won't have the resources to infuse/boost their light levels that players who been in the game for a while (a few seasons, at least) and may find themselves hobbled as they try to level up.
