The algorithm in Destiny has always been a joke. If you play long enough you can almost always guess when you're going to have games where you will pop off and games when you're going to get stomped. Since D1 Bungie has had in place, where it tries to keep you around only winning 50% of your games. Nothing you can do will change that no matter how hard you try and sweat. You will be guaranteed players on your team who you know shouldn't even be in your lobby. You'll get a 3-4 stack that will stomp your whole team or a 3-4 stack that it wants you to carry. It's why I was such a huge fan of freelance. This new iteration of FTMM is just horrible, but that's always the case when Bungie makes changes to MM in PvP. The backend system of keeping you at 50% will always get in the way of any true balancing. My advice is to just play for fun because you're going to be very frustrated trying to win against the MM system.
