State of the game is terrible, one word is all you need lol. Terrible writing, terrible characters, terrible story continuity, terrible everything really. Yeah quality of life updates are cool but those aren’t part of expansions that people pay for, that’s just for everyone. Yeah strand is neat, yeah I run it, no it does not feel like anything even related to the darkness, especially not in any sort of context it (darkness) has ever been narratively explained it out into practice. Stasis feels dark because it’s completely different from anything we have, and it’s all about essentially exerting your will over others in the form of control. Strand is just strings and bugs. They could have made Soulfire and integrated strand element into the Soulfire, but nOOoO Bungie has to be unique. Kinda sucks as someone who always looked forward to that hive green magic with poison, glyphs, and should all mashed together with that witchcraft aesthetic to bring doom to all the -blam!- in the land. So sad and such a waste. Again, it is fun to mess around with, but thematically there is zero reason for literally anyone in the tower to think “ooOOhhh spooky darkness.” It is just strings and bugs and not much more than that. Of course this is all my own opinion, but ya know
