Does it matter? One persons fun is another persons suffering. Its pvp there will always be problems. It’s never going to be perfect.

No but it would be life changing if they had dedicated servers because this isn't 2003 anymore Bungie no games use p2p

  • Huh that is very interesting. I’m not that well versed in all of this plus my understanding skills aren’t good. But from one question (sorry if im nitpicking here) they would basically have to make a edited version of d2 with extra improvements if needs be to make it run on a server? Is that correct? Also would it be abit more difficult if they could build their own servers for d2 to run on?

  • There's a lot more nuance to it than that, but I'll try to explain: If my car is front wheel drive and I want to convert it to all wheel drive, there's a lot of things that have to be swapped out to make it work. There's a new differential, a different axle, making sure the transmission can work with it, anchoring new things to the frame, and so on. It's not a matter of just plugging another differential and drive shaft in and saying, "There, I now have all wheel drive." Could it be done? Sure. Would I just be better purchasing an all-wheel drive car? Probably. It's dependent on if the investment into this car would be worth the effort. Perhaps this car is really, really good and would most definitely excel with all-wheel drive. It's all a matter of cost analysis, but the older your game engine, and more so how much scalability is in it, the effort probably doesn't outweigh the performance benefits for what they'd pay in development hours and infrastructure.
