I hate this use of the word "difficulty." Adding HP doesn't make things more difficult, just more annoying.

I agree. The moment someone uses the word, the "get gud" brigade are out in force. There is nothing wrong with the difficulty, the problem is with choice - there isn't any. Instead of raising the ceiling and giving people more choice, Bungie raised the floor so they reduced choice. That was bound to upset players.
