I feel about the same, this difficulty increase has made me look at the game as if it was a chore, its no longer a fun, run and gun game where you can find challenging content if you want.
I had a serious "quit" moment after i did a nightfall (arms dealer..) with 2 absolute muppets and i was grandly rewarded with 1.5k glimmer and 3 shards.
So bungie have increased the difficulty but not the rewards, doing ALL THAT WORK FOR FRIGGIN 1.5K GLIMMER AND 3 LEGENDARY SHARDS
WHAT THE HELL BUNGIE

Wow, that sounds as bad as “2 Tokens and a Blue” Honestly I quit doing high end lost sectors last year for a similar reason. All I would get was fn glimmer and maybe shards, and this was multiple runs for fn hours. It was a waste of time.

Last season I'd spend an hour or two running legend lost sectors each week and watch the loot drop every 5 minutes or so. I recently ran Thrilladrome 7 times at 10 minutes each before I got an exotic and it was a terrible roll. That was after they buffed the drop rate. In a way it was my own fault. Burnt every resource I had making a bunch of fun builds to end laat season with that were immediately gutted by the mod system changes. Those resources have been so incredibly slow to build up and get a few viable builds together again. We've killed so many big bads over the years and now get one shot in patrols trying to defend a city with a population of one. A population of one too many. That kid is so annoying, I wish I could push them off the damn rooftop just to shut them up.

That's one of the worst things - more effort/time invested, crappy rewards. Bungo demonstrating yet again that they don't respect their typical players' time and effort.
