Abstract:
Reuse Season of Plunder Assets to create a unique player experience utilizing Gambit mechanics to create a PvEvP interaction but purely a competition between two teams to reach a singular goal.
Scenario:
Two teams of 3 players each on their own Ketch Deck will kill PvE enemies on the deck of their own Ketch.
The Goal for each Ketch is to race each other to the endgame loot.
Players can kill PvE enemies (that are constantly spawning) to acquire motes. These motes can be banked for two reasons
1. To launch Cabal Drop Pods at the other ship
2. To summon additional crewmates to speed up the ketch.
The Cabal Drop Pods will contain different enemies depending on the amount of motes banked similar to blocker level in regular gambit. Each impact of a drop pod will briefly stop movement of the ship.
Conversely, if additional crewmates are summoned, they will fight alongside the team but only have the health of a standard red bar. Likewise, there should be three levels of crewmates with the highest level also giving your ship a speed boost.
Enemies that come out of a drop pod will have a singular goal to take out the engine controls at the aft of the ship. There will be three sets of controls that need to be destroyed.
Drop Pod enemies should be sufficiently strong to require a concerted effort by the player team to defeat. Majors or higher depending on the amount of motes banked.
Player invasions would be triggered on the slower ship. The goal for a player invasion would be to try to take out the engines similar to the drop pod enemies.
Reward structure should be similar to regular gambit, but the ship that is the fastest gets a higher chance at high stat armor or exotics.
The slow ship should still get legendary rewards.
Total Game Time should be similar to a crucible or gambit match, faster if one ship is really going quickly. If neither team makes it to the loot goal, a draw should be done and only legendary rewards should be given.

I truly appreciate the time and effort you put to design and describe this version of Gambit (yep, I'm serious, not mocking or jocking), but it's unlikely the Bungie will either improve or rework Gambit at this point. They have no reason to do so, also Gambit hasn't even been mentioned for a very long time. Bungie really pushed it aside.
