Unleash the Kraken!

I really like the fishing activity but I don't like how it disappears when a public event happens nearby. How about if the fishing activity itself turned into an event? Imagine you're fishing peacefully and then the waters boil over and tentacles suddenly shoot out of the water, trying to drag you down! It's the Kraken, arrived to pull you into the deep. So you have to fight it like any other public event boss and at the end you get a chest and the fishing spot opens up again. You could have different creatures for each planet. A Kraken on Nessus, a huge shark on Earth, and some other worm god-type nightmare on the Throne World. It would be awesome and give the game a reason to keep the fishing activity around.

  • If they really want the MMO style experience, things like this should exist. That is the way. It sounds like alot of fun. There is so much opportunity for crazy stuff like this, that would be really interesting but they just don't engage the right ideas because they have zero concept of one crucial thing. A good example of how to do things correctly for a game like this is Nintendo with Legend of Zelda, as the most recent. Its fantastic. Why? Even the dumbest, most nuance things can make a game something more. 100% of all gaming should revolve around one model, "Fun and functionality first. Everything else is secondary". Unfortunately 99% of the gaming industry has forgotten this, and it feels like most people in general have too. If its not fun, it just doesn't belong in the game. That's it. Fun is subjective, and can be tricky though. But it just seems like its completely disregarded in Destiny. Bungie takes it WAY too serious. There is a reason a company like Nintendo still remains so strong, despite the fact they base the vast majority of their business off of family friendly titles. They actually create worlds players can get really lost in, despite the more simple design style, and generally cartoon look. Why do they stay relevant? Because they respect the players. They respect time investment. They respect that we play games to just do some nonsense and de-stress. Yeah they won't hesitate to sue for some dumb stuff, they're flawed too, but in gaming? There is no better company out there. Respect playerbases and you don't need invasive and egregiously overzealous financial models or tedious and unrealistic grinds, because players will flock just because of how enjoyable it is. Yeah it will still exist to a degree, but again going back to Nintendo, how often do we see anything beyond paying for expansions, and how often do they make tons of money in game sales? Bungie lacks true respect for their playerbase. Respect your customers any way you can, and it generally is repayed in kind, and works alot better for everyone. Anyway I probably ranted enough😂.
